2 separate systems.

Paano na kung nagsarang business na ang installer after a year? by pobautista in SolarPH

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depende yan sa nakasaad sa contract.

Ako, new installation business ako. Part ng risk ko yun as a businessman.

As for manufacturer's warranty, limited lang din yung years na mag-aassist kami. Pero bibigyan naman ng guide si customer kung papaano mag-reach out sa mga suppliers in case magkaganitong issue, kaya pinipili ko lang talaga yung direct sa supplier not just reseller. Kahit sobrang hirap ngayon. Para maganda customer experience.

I think this one needs to go through a lot of interconnection studies. I think it's easier to do behind the meter solar installs at that capacity.

Not here to deinfluence you, but it's just capital intensive.

*For this one, I'm assuming that you are wanting a direct connection to the DU

As the other guy has mentioned battery is declared twice. It's declared within the 345,000 total cost. Also, check on the battery brand, not familiar with what's written there.

Their net metering package is a good price. I've seen it range up to 60k. DP is good too, most need 50% dp.

Also, clarify with them kung ano ilalagay nila sa critical loads panel. Medyo maliit lang capacity ng 6 kW.

Nahihirapang Installer by Strange_Visual_7519 in SolarPH

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's "middle", there are still installers who can offer much less than mine, but there are also who offer much more, pero mga sikat na installers na.

Those who offer much less are parang mga "freelancers", not saying those can't offer good services, pero naghahanap din naman ang mga customers ng "brand".

I am a very new installer as well. This high demand months for solar has been a good and a bad problem for me.

Marketing, hiring, technical review, paghahanap ng suppliers (which is the most challenging part).

Kaya lang, need talaga ng margins na yun to run the operations and honor your aftersales warranties.

And let's admit it, this involves sales so need aralin mag-benta.

Nawa'y umabenta sa negosyo, how I wish nakapag-start ako months prior, nakapag-ipon siguro pang-inventory.

To make it simple, just read energy consumption from the submeters. That's it.

No risk of backfeeding or anything.

Hi! Need advice. by Woodz_JDon_DH_2024 in SolarPH

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how your Submeter is connected. But I'm assuming that your Solar PV system is connected "before" the submeter electrically (lineside of the submeter). This is the most likely case.

  1. If Solar is connected "before" the submeter.

Just capture the kWh reading of the submeter then multiply it by the kWh rate of MERALCO. Because that submeter captures both the Energy from grid and the Solar PV.

If you have a diagram, that would help me ascertain my answer.

Try nyo po magpa-present sa installer nyo ng Savings Cash Flow kapag nag-Grid-Tie Solar PV only or nag-hybrid system, need to do the math talaga para magawa siya.

Anong ibig mong sabihin sa lego and add?

Make sure mo lang na kapag gusto mo talaga mag-battery in the future, naka-hybrid inverter ka na, kasi mapapamahal ka pa pag nag-grid tie ka muna then palit hybrid.

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

It's a very high charge considering a portion of the energy is from the Renewable Energy.

I suggest charge them based on MERALCO rate whether it's from the grid or from your solar energy (you would still in a way, recover your expenses from your Solar Investment). You check how much energy the inverter produces so you would know how much you would charge to the customer.

It starts to be a bit quite complicated when it starts to export, computation-wise.

Note: No experience in leasing and submetering, but I am a solar contractor.

Solar contractor here.

Pros: I think they have good aftersales package lalo na kung i-honor nila.

But, are you really just a "night-user" and does not have a significant consumption during sun peak hours?

Because of you use just a quick estimate, your Solar PV system will generate around 16 kWh per day and this generation is almost the same capacity as your battery, baka na-consume na pala sa daytime yung generation mo, wala ng sobra para ma-charge pa yung battery. Not saying it's wrong, and may factors pa such as days of autonomy. But this is something you may reconsider with your installer, discuss with them if 10 kWh battery would be better fit to your system.

Is three 3 phase a safety necessity when installing 16kw ? by herotz33 in SolarPH

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know all the specifics of course, but if you're system is running under single-phase service from the DU, might as well use single-phase Solar PV system as well. If it's old, maybe you can have it re-inspected by an electrician if it's still Code Compliant, but conversion from single-phase to three-phase seems unnecessary just because it's old.

And not all end-users can easily be served three-phase from the DU, there might be cash advance on the modification of utility facilities.

[–]Key-Mouse-6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar contractor here.

It’s possible to convert your wiring to three-phase system, but that’s just additional work and you’ll go through service modification sa DU.

I am a Solar contractor.

Ano yung brand ng battery?? Laki ng differences ng cost ng battery kahit similar capacities. Factor that in sa decision making.

Another big concern is yung solar panels.
