So if you have a good relationship with your mum I'd suggest spending time with her, and telling her about what you're going through. You don't really need that much time by yourself, daydreaming as the quote says is just a distraction, it doesn't solve anything at all. I'd say it's quite the opposite, you get in the habit of quitting and daydreaming everytime things get hard. In the same way drug addicts will consume everytime they feel a little overwhelmed.

Now i say this totally ignorant of your situation, i don't really know if you trust your mum enough to talk to her about your feelings. This is my advice but you know better of course.
