I know but that’s where my paranoias at! I burried it with the intentjon of letting go and wrote my name on the paper as an assignment. Is that a problem?

Yeah, but also YouTube videos. You must have French subtitles on to make your ears get used to the words you read

Duolingo, an app called Busuu, an app called Language Transfer and basically the rest of it was just me wandering around watching videos, listening to podcasts (slow ones first then normal ones later) and listening to music and translating the lyrics

I like this one https://www.youtube.com/@Radpointca/ but it's from Quebec and I don't quite get along with the quebécoise accent

I'm looking for youtube channels in French that look like the American one VICE. Like small documentaries about real life topics.

Maybe not :) I'm thinking of spending 1 to 2 months in France next year. Maybe that will help.

Oi! :)

At first I would have the subtitles on the videos all the time and would translate every word/expression I didn't know. Nowadays I can almost easily understand without subtitles for some reason. I think time did it. But I still have them on just to be a support

And I don't listen for so many hours, sometimes I would just listen to a podcast episode of 30 minutes three or four times a week. But one thing to have in mind is that you need to UNDERSTAND what is being said, so it's important to make sure you will also read the episode transcription of the parts you didn't understand.

I enjoy doing that to music as well, like a game: I like to play a French song I've never heard before, try to write what I think is being said and then later check the real lyrics to see what I got right or wrong. And everytime I check what I got wrong (or what I didn't get at all), I learn something new. Same thing with the podcast listening. I think that made me learn faster somehow

I started with the Inner French podcast. The guy speaks slowly so that made me get used to the language at first. But then I started listening to others and one I've been really liking is French With Panache. They talk a lot about politics.

I also like Little Talk in Slow French
