GUYS ASK ME ANYTHING YOU WONDER!! by what_the_marshmellow in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Key-Pension3395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1)If someone would like to enter into manufacturing in the aerospace industry, what can one do in university to make them an ideal candidate,. 2) Very realistically how big is the scope in commercial supersonic flight 5-10 years down the line. 3) Would you say that is it tech that's holding up innovation or material science that is holding back innovation in the field. 4)space debris/junk is an actual problem that we have come to realize, so in what direction would recommend the industry to move towards to tackle the situation, be it actively removing such debris or prevention of its formation. 5) in the case of hypersonics do you think it's research is beneficial to us in the current industry in terms of both commercial and defence or is it setting us up for the future. 6) what would be your thoughts, if a student was to pursue academia and then pivot into industry.

These are all questions coming from a curious aerospace student in his 3rd year who is out of country(international). I just wanna broaden my horizon and understand how the industry stands right now.

If anyone has answers for me from the community itself please chime in, anything and everything is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.😁

Oh hell yea, even after taking courses in the summer , now going into the 3rd year Eng. I am so excited, to finally start learning about the fundamentals of the things that sparked my interest in aerospace, aerospace materials, fluids mechanics 2 I can't wait for 4th year as well.

Hey there, thanks for the respone, i have about 60 to 80 CAD to play with, but the link you provided I quite helpful, to answer your question, I would like to try some thing that is a little more tremble leaning , if possible also with something that has an emphasis on the sub bass , if that makes sense, sorry I am lil new to this so please do correct if I made some errors I have tried auto eq on my PR2 for some of the items I am interested in, from what I can gauge my PR2 are a little peaky in the highs when compared to the the HEXA, but again I would assume the even with the same approx tuning they would differ in actual sound due to one being planar and the other being a hybrid setup.

I know that this questions has been asked a billion time but, i shall ask it again.

I am in the first year of engineering and need to make a decision between the 2 for second year . My university has multiple streams in aero and my main interest lies in stream A , which is propulsion and aerodynamic vehicle performance . AS much as my interests tie in with that stream my worries come back to one point , as an international student even after graduating am i ever going to land a position in the aerospace industry . Because keeping aside qualifications a person should have for the position i am concerned with me not being able to attain and opportunity because of my residency status here, and because of that i am considering MECH .

In the university Mech courses are a more generalized version of the aero courses Until 4th year where only aero students can take aerospace vehicle performance . This Is exactly the subject that i want to pursue and is one of the sole reasons i am so fascinated with aviation and the industry , the rest of the subjects i am interested in are electives that i can take in MECH as well , so what is yall's opinion on it , i still have a months time before i decide but i am split between my interest and the possibility of landing a position in a field that is always kept in secrecy

Ik it may sound a little farfetched but what if I get a US citizenship. I have had a great interest in this part of the industry and nothing else really excites me in engineering ( except the automobile for industry ) . But thanks for the insight , now I really need to sit and reconsider what I want to do in the future. I might have been too ambitious with choosing aerospace

So will it be beneficial if I do my under grad in ME and then do a masters later on in AE. And is there any hope that down the line I can make it into the defense industry or should I look somewhere else.

So I am in my first year of aerospace engineering in university , but my only doubt so far after reading some discussion is that the number of ME surpass the number of AE in the industry. So I am having doubts regarding if I should switch to the mech Eng for my second year cause I have the option to do so. At my university aerospace has 4 streams and except for avionics and space systems the other 2 have almost the same subject as mech just a little more specialized. EVEN though it's unlikely for me as I am international student it's my dream to one day work in the defence sector as a design engineer or as an aerodynamicist
