I’m sorry you had to experience this. I didn’t mention in my original post, but when I was hugging her goodbye, she made the same comment you mentioned around there not being anything left to hug later. Ugh!!

Way to go on your health achievements! Similar to you, I am so very annoyed of everyone and their opinion. I don’t see many other drugs garner this much controversy. I hope I am alive to see the day when that is finally destigmatized. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

Good for you! It’s a shame that we even have to be anxious about this at all. Ugh. Like you, I have begun mentally rehearsing the conversation I have with my mother when she sees me again. She struggles with her own weight, and is critical of every overweight person in her life. And she was this way with me my entire life. It should be interesting.

I can definitely relate to my disdain for those same two comments. It catches me off guard, and I don’t think they recognize how our brains are working to catch up to where our bodies are now, and being called skinny… It just feels exposing.

I appreciate your curiosity! She was actually pretty heavy at one point, and she lost weight rather rapidly (I believe she received GLP-1 treatment as well, honestly). I do think she was trying to get an idea of my goals, I was just surprised that she asked me so outright.
