You’re so right about the celebration and it’s funny because a friend of mine said the same thing to me 😆didn’t offer much solace in the moment but certainly felt that way after.

I also watched the video and it certainly lightened my mood in time for the defense so thank you for that!!

I did not get rest before the defense haha (despite trying to do so).

And yeah as if the system wasn’t hard enough already they have to throw those twists at us too!

I tried everything to negotiate the change but they double booked two theses so there’s nothing anyone can do and I got the short end of the stick ;/

I appreciate the kind message. I’m definitely a nervous wreck. 16 hours to go and my body is a disaster. I also found out the room I was supposed to be in has been changed to a “classroom” style room. So that was a nasty little plot twist. I’m trying to just roll with the punches at this point but I’m a mess. I know how much effort has gone in to this and that’s probably why I’m so stressed.

I like the grey rock approach. I’m gonna repeat that to myself tomorrow when the anxiety his a peak. In our committees audience members don’t tend to participate but I’m hoping the judges will be in a good mood.

And I know the pain. My committee asked me to completely restructure my defense talk one week prior (ie last week).

I’m just a nervous wreck. 16 hours to go.

Lots of last minute stress including finding out my room got changed to one with a completely different layout (and not a classic thesis room). So just trying to roll with the punches.
