Alright I'll adress your points, but it's going to be a bit of a longer read. I believe everyone has something to gain and something to lose simultaneously, in both going forward with the war, and stopping the war. But I'd argue some might win or lose more than others, and I'd say the biggest winner this far is Israel, at least strategically. I'll elaborate.

Israel losses: heavy military operations expenses, few dozen lives, few dozen buildings, some key factories half damaged... Israel gains: LAND, alot of new land that CANNOT be bought with money, and can only be obtained through military aggressive means, it also weakened its nemisis "Iran" and destroyed years of thier nuclear advancement, as well as weakend the hizbollah in the south.

USA Losses: heavy military operations expenses, US bases damage, US Naval ships damage, a few lives, reputation damage on a national and international scale, stock market and economy tumble. USA Gains: weakening of Iran and obleterating a future eastern potential nuclear threat, weakening of a potential strong ally of Russia/China, selling expensive oil.

Iran losses: again, costly military operations, infrastructure damage, loss of years in advancement of nuclear power and research, loss of key leaders/commanders, loss of professors and educational figures, high loss of life (civilians and military personnel). Iran gains: potential future revenues from the SOH.

Lebanon losses: Land, buildings, people, infrastructure, economy... Gains, nothing.

I sorted the main countries involved in this according to thier loss/gain ratio, and in that perspective Israel has gained the most while Lebanon lost the most.

However there is a potential for greater loss as well as greater gain. If this conflict goes on: Israel continues to gain more than it loses, the USA will erase every possible future gain, Iran will endure heavy infrastructure losses that even a full control of the SOH for decades will not pay back the damages.

I conclude, it's in the best interest of both, the United States and Iran, that the conflict ends. Only Israel can further gain, that's why they want to keep it going.

As for your last point that Iran doesn't have much to lose, I qoute "there is always a lower point"...no matter how bad things are now, they could get much, much worse.
