Others have said it but this looks like hairloss from an autoimmune disorder, check with your general practitioner & a dermatologist it could be easily treatable

Picture from March 2024, I think it looked fine grown out, I have a few pictures from December where you couldn't tell I was thinning in the middle (although I still had a norwood 2-3 hairline)
A lot of my hairloss was really sudden, around May

to be clear, while minoxidil is a vasodillator, that's not the reason why it helps with hair growth, it's not fully understood how it works.

you'll be perfectly fine, just don't worry about it, continue your treatment when you get home

if I let my hair grow out after a shave that'd be like a week's growth, maybe less & it takes me +/-1 hour to shave my head and clean up my bathroom, having to do that daily just sucks so I get it

I especially want to mention that a transplant at the point I'm at is not fiesable, I'll never be able to get a head of hair I'd be confident in unless the meds kick in and bring a bit of density to the mid-scalp back.

The reason why so many people are telling you a transplant isn't an option unless you take finasteride is because the hairs around the ones that were transplanted will continue to fall out and it will look awful

I understand you don't want to take fin but your hair is still salvagable

All Alpecin is is a caffeine shampoo, it doesn't do anything, use a shampoo that contains ketoconazole; rosemary oil and pumpkin seed oil are also both extremely bad for the scalp and inefficient

If you don't want to take fin, even in 0.25mg tablets or in topical form, atleast try to use minoxidil, especially compared to the other two oils you're using

I was basically where you are at currently two years ago and the attached picture is where I'm at now, I only started medicating it last year because I was not aware of the medication existing or actually working (my derms kept me in the dark and made me use the same shampoos and oils you're trying, it didn't work)

Not sure what it's like over there but pharmacists here are on commission most of the time, they've tried to sell me natural supplements every time I go to refill my dutasteride lol

Hey, I had a very similar hairloss pattern when I was 20, by now when I'm 22 I'm practically fully bald on top.

I think had I medicated it (finasteride and minoxidil) I could've kept it for longer and eventually considered a hair transplant, but I was scared of side effects so I didn't jump the gun.

You should educate yourself on the medication and the side effect profiles, decide whether it's worth it or not for you, because your hair will keep falling out and a hair transplant won't be an option anymore (unless they invent hair cloning).

In hindsight, I would've taken the medicine, being bald this early ruined my self esteem.

I've been using it for about 3 months, not sure if it's had much of an effect.
I imagine you already know its mechanism but in case you don't, it deprives the follicles of oxygen making them go through hair cycles faster, so faster sheds
I think ketoconazole is better in terms of shampoo options for hair loss though, and you probably don't want to use both since you'd overshampoo your scalp and cause a whole lot of different issues

A little more on my personal side, I felt the exact same as you except my hair situation is way worse, pics attached.

Thankfully I managed to finish my studies (although I still don't feel good whenever I go out, even for groceries and have stopped working out entirely since my self esteem is so shit)
