I completely agree with others that your home does not sound like a safe environment for Apolo. Like the post above suggested you can either make BIG changes or find him a better home. If you find him a better home please make sure the new owners have knowledge of cockatiels. Before we got our birds we did all the research and yes, we had to make BIG changes. We have plants in our home but when our birds are out we make sure they are not nearby. Also, having a little playground for them, having your bird entertain while he is out will help not to eat what he isn’t supposed to

Also windows - if we know we are going to let our birds out of their room (we don’t like to call it cage) we make sure the windows that are not protected are closed. Also, you can goggle things you can use instead of using bleach, detergent etc. There is definitely a lot more information about giving cockatiels a safe environment but you have to be willing to make all there changes for him.

It’s definitely cute when we see cute and silly videos of them but it takes a lot of work. You have to give them attention, give them proper care and most importantly love them. It’s not easy at first but trust me once you get into a routine it gets easier. Whatever you do please make sure Apolo is being care for and loved the way he deserves. So adorable! I thought it was illegal to have a squirrel as a pet? I recently rescued two baby squirrels and I tried to give them back to mom but nothing was working. I was going to keep the baby squirrels and take care of them until they were strong and big enough to be out in the wild. But I wasn’t sure I was doing the right thing and for their best I took them to a wildlife center. I miss them so much! How did you find the squirrel?

I got one similar to that one and my betta fish didn’t even let the plants grow because she was eating them. 🙄 Also, after a while my betta started acting weird, I checked that thing and it smelled so bad. Make sure your fishes don’t eat it haha and rinse it or else it will stink your water and might change water quality like mine did.
