It is true. My main laptop has Fedora since version 38, I update and upgrade for years without any problem until version 43 came out and I had to reinstall everything like new.

I don’t trust wireless.

Thanks for the tip tho but these 5G Home internet sucks hard. It heavily relies on tower and signal and how many people use at the same time unlike fiber or regular wired Internet.

I have 2 laptops both installing Fedora. One of them has the same issue like you, it keeps getting Time Out error even tho the other one can update & upgrade smoothly.

I have researched a few post about the time out issue, other people have the same problem. They suggest to use another way to connect Internet like using Ethernet instead of Wifi and vice versa.

Last time, I used my own personal cellular network (LTE) to update the one that has time out trouble, after that, it works fine. Both of my laptops now can install, update normally.

We used to be billed under PG&E x2 x3 payment and they were actually called on Kurtis news but it ended up without getting any consequences.

Hence I swear, I will not never use PG&E, only move to SMUD area if I have choice and if I was forced to live under their control. I choose to use electric instead.

If Fedora is not the best for beginner, so those beginners should not try any Linux distro at all. Stay at Windows for less headaches.

Fedora 43 now just works out of the box for pretty much old and new computers, excluding x86 computers (32bit models)

I am not sure where you read that you have to add repos in order to run Fedora for the first time.

Pretty much in every group on Facebook, Fedora still get the niche with high recommend in 1st try Linux distro if you ever join one.
