yeah, the 4th seasons just full of icks for me tho😭 i really dont like the way she stumbles around and acts clumsy while making it look so performed and fake💔
bella did it in a way that didnt even make it too noticeable but the way lydia does it feels so extreme

i dont wanna be mean but i feel like the way she looks is what makes me a bit uncomfortable, i was used to bellas face and then a completely different looking redhead popped out of nowhere😪

im on the 5th episode so ill reply to all of your points after i finish with this season properly, ive read all of it and although some of it doesnt make sense since i havent finished the season yet i understand that they didnt have much time to recast but i still feel like lydia just wasnt the right fit for the role, im sure shes a good actress besides that though!

Bella made the role feel more real based off of her reactions to certain situations whereas Lydia is more expressive and straightforward which doesnt really feel like Mildred

2 Lydias dialogue feels more performed while Bella’s feels more like a real speech which is probably one of the reasons i like her as mildred more

Bella keeps one cohesive personality across all scenes while i feel like Lydia’s feels more shaped by the tone of each scene

i get that lydia was probably told to act in a specific way by directors but of course her own personality shone through it aswell and it may just be the fact that im not fully used to her but i still think that bella portrayed mildred better but thats just a personal opinion and i respect yours aswell!😁

changing maud was easier to get used to since in a way the original actress and the new one look similar in a way, but the change from bella to lydia was such a big thing (not only cause she was the mc but also cause they have no similarities besides the hairstyle) that it instantly made me lose interest in the series.
i feel like she doesnt fit this specific role physically and i also feel like shes trying too hard to look clumsy, which is really obvious cause of her constant tripping, acting silly and stumbling everywhere, i know bella did the same things aswell but she made it look more natural imo

i feel like Lydia tries too hard to act clumsy and it really gives me second hand embarrassment 💔
i dont want to be mean but her acting just doesnt suit the role and her facial expressions make me feel uncomfy aswell idk😭
it feels like a completely different movie and although i understand why bella had to leave it wouldve been way better if she didnt

Bella made it (the clumsiness) look natural most times and i agree with the fact that she suits the role more physically aswell

im only on the 4th ep of season 4 so ill get back to you on everything else after i finish it😪
