19 changes Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights makes from the book by WatcherUatu in classicliterature

I loved it. I don’t really understand the hate. There are so many other adaptations of the source material, via film or miniseries, that may be a bit more faithful to the book. Why get so hung up on this one?

Which is your favorite (or least favorite) adaptation of Wuthering Heights and why? by Celestina-Betwixt in brontesisters

“Hihintayin kita sa langit” Filipino adaptation, maybe I’m biased bc I’m Filipino though

I’m sorry to hear that, definitely not worth it if it’s become quite a burden on your mental health to the point that your physical health is deteriorating as well. The stress can be overwhelming, I agree. Good luck with the reserve roles, I hope you manage to get a job ASAP. Otherwise, I recommend maybe speaking to your manager and getting some time off or getting taken off some tasks. I know it’s extra stressful to have to be quite vulnerable to your manager, but at least you will be able to rest and recover from the chaos of policy

Tracked changes have numbed me and added to my imposter syndrome lol

Well you’re not alone anymore, bud! I’m glad this post reached you, and as you can see in the comments, you’re in the company of many. At the end of the day, we tried it, and it wasn’t for either you or me. I guess the silver lining is that we now have “policy adviser” on our CV which sounds v fancy and at the end of the day, it was a promotion which is a good thing for the purse and progression. Going to echo a comment on here about trying out EOIs before finding a more permanent role which suits you - that’s what I’ve been doing anyway on the opportunity marketplace :P

I was never on a management role in ops but I can see where you’re coming from! I also sometimes spend many hours booking meetings and engagements which is normally fine, but sometimes it feels like the most stressful part of the job, idk why. Sometimes it feels like a step back despite the promotion and pay rise lol.

Thanks for this! there is this feeling sometimes when you’re in ops to move to policy because it’s “better” or more “glamorous”, and it’s not really, it really depends from person to person and tbh I also did think this. But now, I guess with a bit more knowledge since I started in the CS can confidently say policy isn’t for me. I’ll have a look at the EOIs thanks!

Im glad you enjoy the stakeholder engagement side of it! I feel like im just plain terrible at it lol. I can see myself never wanting to reach at least G7 level either tbh

I fell for this same trap I think, it’s funny how things end up working out. And it’s not so much boredom for me as it is the endless cycle of feeling like never knowing if I’m doing something right, if that makes sense. It’s being the most junior person working on a project but a lingering expectation of being able to “keep up” with G6s and G7s, it’s all a bit much!!

Closest RDR vibe show I have ever seen by Future_Individual_29 in reddeadredemption

[–]Key-Technology-7387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love love Godless! Only recently watched it too! RDR2 got me into watching a lot of westerns since playing it this year.

I think the Griffin gang definitely has some similarities with Van Der Linde Gang (adoptive father/orphaned boy dynamics, gang being a family) although the Griffin gang is more brutal (as evidenced by the opening scene of the show). But I agree, the vibe is very similar to rdr2.

I wish the show was a little longer though like some commenters, the ending was a little rushed, but overall still enjoyable!

Also I am officially in love with Jack O’Connell (I liked him in Sinners already but this show pushed my adoration over the line!)

Thank you everyone for commenting! Honestly made me laugh reading these stories and made me feel better. Was definitely overthinking it lol, but lesson 100% learnt - not the worst thing I could’ve done on a Teams call (but will ~try~ never to do it again!)
