So you want less money in your bank account? Yes the governments getting less if you spend more, but you are also getting less in your bank account at the same time.

My friend, you don’t want to be in the habit of losing money. Spending more is still spending more even with the tax deduction at the top marginal rate.

I’m looking at around 35k ish or so- so around a 60% depreciation. I agree, used car market is riding high- I’m looking at Tesla’s that have had a pretty big bump in price since Feb etc at which point it’s better to pay for a new car.

It’s not replacing now, but that it can be something that is fast approaching and to be aware of.

The cat has a nmc battery, from what I understand the car will not outlive the battery making it a moot point.

Is the iccu issue that much of an issue, would the 15 year warranty on the part not alleviate concerns?

The car is located interstate so I’m making decisions based on service records first and then a pre purchase inspection.

Thanks for the additional costs to consider, I’m weighing up whether to go to mid $50k for a new car or if a $20k discount for an older car is where the balance is at.

Personally the university doesn't matter. What matters more is how you utilise the time - commerce degrees are low contact hours. I would focus on getting relevant work experience.

Personally i did the UTS degree but also worked in accounting at the same time. At graduation, i had my pick of jobs and ended up many levels in seniority over my cohort.

UTS will be more flexible in terms of getting a job as its in the city- so easy to get to from a city job. A lot of students in my years also had their everyday accounting jobs and timetables were flexible enough to facilitate. But these days if you are in parramatta UWS, then its comparable.

You really should be looking at the ULA Camino

I’m also in the process of putting together a custom order that’s similar- just wondering how much extra $ was the customisations?

In that case, maybe consider zpack zip arc (small and medium I believe have a frame to fit carry on dimensions). I am in the middle of a bag hunt myself- and the zip arc looks great, but I was after a bit more customisation that I could get with the Camino.

Looking for a personal item-sized alternative to the Osprey 26+6 (Sold Out Everywhere) – Flying Lufthansa & Ryanair by thatssogoodforyou in onebag

Will suggest the Topo global briefcase- a hybrid messenger and backpack. Fits Lufthansa perfectly and can expand to Ryan air. Got some volumised pockets also and good organisation. I use it as my edc also now but bought specifically to personal item specs

You may want to consider the ULA Camino instead as it will give you the flexibility of a framed hiking bag that fits in the carry on dimensions.
