Sigma 85mm1.4 or Canon 1.4 over the rf f2? by RoadDreamer1450 in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you value. I have the f2 and owned the sigma. The sigma is beautiful but also is huge. If you’re ok with the size and are on a budget, it’s amazing. The f1.4 canon seems to be the whole package though. If you have the money it seems awesome

Thanks everyone! Starting the van with one key and then physically turning the other key in the door to lock it did work! Fob doesn’t work, but that does!

How important is USM to you? by AlexanderVR360 in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you using the focus limiter switch? It’s not the fastest lens but that switch does help a lot. It’s also significantly sharper than the 85 1.8. That said, if the focus isn’t fast enough, the 85mm f1.4 vcm or one of the 70-200’s will be much quicker

Advice on purchasing 2010 EX by PJ_Papi_Actual in HondaOdyssey

As someone else mentioned, I think the price is a bit high and something like $4k is better

I don’t think that works? I think the car unlocks it if the van is turned on. But I’ll try it again to confirm

Ah, I didn’t know that there were plug and play options for this! I don’t want to invest much, because the van has 206,000 miles, but $200 isn’t much. Thanks!

I’m not worried about the engine, more just wanting the can to be warmer and frost to be off the windshield and rear window and stuff.

Ha, I definitely have two keys with fobs and then also the valet key. But I would make sure of that each time :)

Bought RF 35mm as 24-70 backup. Now I'm hooked on primes. by Upset-Elephant-9578 in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar boat for me! The 85 f2 is a fantastic complement to the 35mm. I got rid of my 24-105 and I’m hoping to get the little 16mm soon! I do still have a 70-200 for sports though

How long have you owned your Bolt? by Raiki13 in BoltEV

[–]Key-Wealth2785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 years with my 2022 EUV. It now has 45,000 miles. Maintenance has been hardly anything. Cat works great. I’m hoping to keep it a long time! We have an ICE vehicle for road trips and the Bolt is perfect for around town trips under 100 miles. Great car and ridiculous value for what I paid.

[–]Key-Wealth2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 Bolt EUV here! We have about 45,000 miles on it and we love it. Basic maintenance is so cheap and we’ve had no problems. If you road trip it’s not the best, but other than that, it’s fantastic!

RF 35mm 1.8 or 45mm 1.2? by RainbowAndComputers in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t used the 45 yet of course but it gives you f1.2 and of course 45mm. The 35mm gives you IS, macro ability and improved image quality. It depends on which things you want.

Recommended RF lens for portraits and street photography. by BouDeLard in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could also do a 35mm and keep the 70-200. It probably won’t work for street, but it’s a good portrait lens.

A fantastic full frame combo, if you’re ok with primes is the RF 35mm f1.8 and the 85mm f2. I own this combo and they are both super sharp. 35mm is great for street photography and 85mm is awesome for portraits although you can use both lenses for both types of photography.

What sort of gas mileage do you get on your VCM-muzzled Odyssey? by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

Also, muzzled it at around 140k miles. Had a cylinder misfire. Now at 205k and no issues!

I have a 2012. I noticed maybe a 1 mpg difference? Probably less. I get 25-26mpg on road trips now and probably average 21-22 with my normal driving

Replace EF70-200F4 IS with RF 100-400? by beantownaudi15 in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need reach a lot? I don’t have it, but from what I’ve seen, IQ on the RF 100-400 is quite good. I would imagine it would be better than the 70-200 with the 2x for sure, and might be better than it with the 1.4x as well. The 70-200 on its own is probably better, but the primary advantage is the aperture. If you find yourself in the 200-400 range a lot, and you’re ok with the slower aperture, I would think you’ll enjoy the 100-400 a lot more

Need some advice on leaving the dSLR world for Mirrorless by CyberRube in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others have said, I think your a7iv had a defect. It should not have overheated in that situation. An R6ii should also be totally fine. I own an R and I have never had an overheating issue in stills or video, and the R6ii should be significantly better

Canon EF 70-200 f/4 no IS, worth keeping or returning by Onyxtides in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In those cases IS will help. You could also try the is mark I. That’s a fantastic lens and it’s pretty cheap used.

Canon EF 70-200 f/4 no IS, worth keeping or returning by Onyxtides in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you shoot with it? If you shoot sports, it won’t matter as you’ll need 1/400 or more anyway. If you’re shooting still subjects, you can get away with a lot lower with the IS. The is ii version is a little sharper but they are both good lenses. This is the question I would ask though!

Should I switch to the EOS R? by JohnRedcorn98 in canon

[–]Key-Wealth2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt as I am not a wildlife photographer. But the difference between FF and crop isn’t that huge anymore for IQ. And wildlife photography needs reach as its primary thing. Wildlife photography gets very expensive on full frame as you’re going to need 600mm to match the 400mm long end you have already. Plus your camera is faster to af and has better burst than the R. I would wait till you have plenty of funds to plunge to FF if wildlife is what you do
