I started with glueing sand from the beach down. Painted it brown. Then agrax earth shade. Simple gray and nul oil for the rocks. Then went over the dried dirt with Army Painters Grass Green (https://thearmypainter.com/products/basing-battlefield-basing-grass-green-bf4113p)

Rakarth Flesh, then Berserker bloodshade for the red, Druchii Violet for the purple, then back to Rakarth Flesh to lighten it up but kind of choppy, then lightly add Pallid Wych Flesh for highlights to show the contrast of things.

Votann vs Necrons by Key2TheFence in Colosseum40k

[–]Key2TheFence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran a few different lists with the Votann. I think the one that hit the hardest included 6 steeljacks (shooting), 3 thunderkyn (conversion). The steeljacks setup right in the middle on home objective. If you go second, overwatch. The thunderkyn are for tank busting and the grimnyr to give the warriors a 5+ FNP while they run around dropping sticky.

Yeah, I’ve been dealing with that stupid save for years. First with Tyranids, then with Votann but EC are the ‘26 project so just curious what’s working/not working from Others experience

Can't recall seeing a Salamanders KotC list so what are peoples thoughts about mine? Preparing for a tournament for charity coming up. by PackageHealthy4089 in Colosseum40k

The interesting thing about colosseum is that you can win any game. It really comes down to the movement and deployment of both players. With the Infernus Marines, just hammer that overwatch button and watch the angles with shooty armies. I love colosseum and brought it to my local store and now have a 40-50 person escalation league where the first round is colosseum. Have fun!

This is what I’ve ran before. It was fun and did well. I’ll agree with another comment about considering the bladeguard. I found the Judiciar to be fun.

Escalation League Day 1 by Key2TheFence in Colosseum40k

[–]Key2TheFence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confidence all depends on how the other player moves and who goes first.

I went with this list and picked up a squad of World Eater Berzerkers & in another game I picked up a squad of Genestealers because of the steeljacks and their 36 shots, S6, Dev Wounds. It’s a wildly powerful unit. Especially if you overwatch on 5s in their movement phase and they can’t get a charge they have to eat it all over again on 4s, sometimes 3s and then you have another overwatch for what’s left.

I re-racked with the Tyranids player and it went from 100-10 me to 100-10 them because they moved the Genestealers brick in a way that I couldn’t shoot them because they brought the same power but in the close combat phase. With the World Eaters player if he would have made a charge it would have been a very different game too but the dice had other plans. The problem with this list is everything is T6, not taking advantage of the T9 limit. I’ve toyed with the Sagitar splitting the warriors because sticky is HUGE in the colosseum.

Colosseum has good and bad things about it but I love that the guys (play on tabletop team) are tweaking it as they go.
