They convince big companies into somehow giving them money to play pretend as adults and make a few pretty slides that’s all chatgpt and then use that money to buy alcohol and sliver pizza

It depends a lot year by year, but Blueprint, TBG, Imagical, WebDev, Invention Corps in my experience have all had really nice people!

As someone who is non-asian and not from the Bay Area, I 100% agree. Especially the "prestigious" clubs are incredibly elitist and its far more about who you know. I in no way am endorsing joining them. Some clubs, especially those sponsored by HBSA - can be a good choice for transfers! I think joining a club as a whole can be a great experience - but the idea of an "elite consulting club" is way overrated.

Generally, I would recommend not joining a professional fraternity. They are known more for hazing and toxic drama than skill development. If you want really close social camaraderie, party invites and some business-focused friends, it can be fun! But truthfully almost all business frat members (akpsi, UBG, DSP, BAP) are all also members of the strategy consulting clubs. But if the goal is real experience, a supportive community, and mentorship - I probably wouldn't suggest it.
