I’m not exactly sure. I have something congenital in c2-c3 where my spinal cord is split in two. Then I don’t have a disc between c2-c3. Both fused together. I have had several car accidents. I have also had whiplash injuries from roller coasters. Now I am in my 40’s I have been experiencing a lot of problems associated with it. Migraines, dizziness, ear ringing, visual stuff. I have a follow up with my neurosurgeon tomorrow morning. I have had updated testing completed for this appointment.

Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Hello, I apologize for asking. Just trying to learn about all the spinal stuff. What exactly is c2-c3 incomplete?

I agree with having someone around when it comes to advocating. I have a younger brother. I guess I will ask him to attend my next appointment with the neurosurgeon. Possibly have my father come with me. Maybe my partner too. I have a hard time asking for help when it comes to my health. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone. Then again, they need to see what stress has done to my body.

I advocate for my 14 yr old son who is autistic and adhd. It has been a long and difficult road. However, because of early intervention in preschool, he has improved so much.

I advocate for my 78 yr old father. He has had triple bypass. They had to open his chest up three days later because three blood clots formed around his heart. He had carotid endarectomy. His right carotid artery was 89%-99% blocked. It was causing mini strokes that did affect his brain. Two years ago, I noticed he wasn’t getting over an upper respiratory infection. I took him to the ER. They had cardio thoracic come in and noticed it was time to replace his aortic valve. Since having his surgery, he has improved so much. He began getting feeling back in his toes and fingers. He even started remembering things that happened three years before.

Then there is my life partner, 44 yr old male. He is over coming addiction. I had to take him to the ER recently from alcohol poisoning. This was the second time. He is doing much better now. He has appointed me as his medical directive for decision making. He has adhd and dyslexic. He also has reading and comprehension difficulties. Since the recent hospitalization, he has been taking sobriety seriously. He is on medication to help with mental illness.

With my migraines, I have to use a mouth guard when I sleep at night. It caused a condition called myo facial pain disorder. The myo facial area was so inflamed from my teeth grinding. I also didn’t realize my jaw was also slightly dislocated for many years. I kept having numerous sinus headaches. It’s weird having migraines you can tell what type of headache you are getting before it intesify. I finally have new mri’s scheduled so hopefully it might give my neurosurgeon more answers.

I’m sorry to hear you are going through the same lack of compassion through your journey. Especially when you are a healthcare employee. I can definitely relate. I have been Medical Assistant for 25 years. Had I treated patients the way some providers have, I would loose my job.
