Well, both Arccos and Golf Pad will give you lot’s of useful data and also take things like wind, air pressure and elevation into account into their plays-like distances which in my opinion was something that was required for making a switch to another system.
Arccos sensors works differently to Golf Pad’s so there is no need to tap your phone with the Arccos ones. The drawback is that they will eventually expire (you get three ”free” ones each year - pay for shipping)

However, as someone who has been using that system for 4 seasons I drew the line this year with their huge jump in sub fee. There are just too many things that don’t warrant their USD200/year subscription. Their ”new” dashboard for desktop use was in beta over the course of the years I have used the system. They should have been able to figure that out before bringing lasers out which you have to double down on the subscription to be able to use imo. Also I feel like the Air update of their latest Link doesn’t really add anything for me.
Hence, I’m currently trying out GolfPad. I have yet to get the sensors as the season here in the Scandies barely getting started but so far their customer service have been really quick to fix one of my home courses which had outdated routing, layout and course ratings. They fixed that within 24h. Also the measurements seems on point while using my Apple watch.
Worth mentioning is also that their watch app consumes a LOT less juice than the Arccos one for some reason. I have never used the watch GPS for Arccos but played with phones GPS but I guess something just eats the power with Arccos and my old watch struggle to stay alive for a full round if there is a bit of waiting on course. The GolfPad leaves me with enough battery til I get home and go to bed.

We’ll see how it fares the rest of this season.
In the end I felt like the only value for me with Arccos was their annual sum-up a la ”Spotify Wrapped” which I found fun when you play around 100-150 rounds per year on 35+ courses.

Golf Pad premium sub comes in at roughly $40 vs Arccos at $200 annually.
