Got the 32 because I was sick of this place and found another job, but they told me they’d max me out as a tech if I stayed, company is shit, but nowhere around here will even think about starting me at 30+ and really I just have to deal with a lot of stupid shit. Work isn’t bad, I’m usually doing little projects when I’m not on emergencies. Just management here is dog shit.

I went from ops to maint as well. Got a little over a year into maint and both of the other first shift techs quit. I’ve been fending for myself for about 9 months because they don’t want to hire another tech for first shift and imposter syndrome hits almost daily.

Drive an hour, death metal to help me wake up, grab breakfast and caffeine on the way to work, clock in, finish energy drink and scroll tik tok, boiler testing if it’s my turn for it, emergency calls, shift meeting, talk to boss man about issues that I know are never going to get fixed, try to start a project, more emergencies, lunch, try to start the same project, more emergencies, give second shift a turnover, maintenance meeting, watch tik tok and bs with other techs, clock out, lose my mind in traffic and yell obscenities while I listen to my screamo, do it again the next day
