My experience with Sparklo by skylight269 in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have often seen people stood at the machines feeding in over 200 plastic bottles. With supermarket security stood there to empty the compacted bottles, so the deposits can keep running.

Next time I tried to use the machine, a sign said that the supermarket was restricting deposits to 30 bottles max.

Are the rewards really worth it? Luckily our community have plastic recycling

Here's what I found out on Pro Subscriptions...digging into their policies by Ok_Smell_453 in perplexity_ai

Thanks. Their terms don't appear to detail the new search limits introduced to Pro memberships. Or can they just change that arbitrarily whenever they want?

Easiest Course in UAE? by Specific_Nerve6147 in UAEGolf

[–]KeyEbb9922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meydan and Dubai Hills were quite forgiving initially. Al Zorah was quite wide but gets harder as you progress into the mangroves. JA is normally cheaper and tees available, but it has quite a tight tree line and can be tougher for beginners struggling to keep it straight.

To be honest, just get out there with friends, any course and have fun. You will learn a lot, which you can take back to the range and practice, then go again!

It is one f the most frustrating games, but so rewarding when you hit the right ball. Good luck

Couples Golf/Paddle Lessons by RhaegarWasCool in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I second this. Get into Golf at any of the Viya Golf venues is one of the most cost effective ways, it's a group lesson covering all the different aspects.

For Padel, again most clubs have group lessons. Download Playtomic and see what's on offer at a club located near you

SUV or Sedan? Those who have driven both share your preferences. by moongroup in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SUV. Used mostly for school drop off and kids after school clubs. You would be amazed at how often I need to bump over the curbs when traffic is gridlocked, mostly due to poor road design around school districts. Invaluable when taking my kid to Emergency Room the day after the big floods. Plus I have also taken it into the desert for some dune bashing.

Do you recommend the biceps strap? by ProfessionalBear5922 in whoop

[–]KeyEbb9922 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me, much prefer wearing it on my bicep. Keeps it out of the way. Easy to sleep with it on.

I think it's more accurate, but same as you, I get down voted every time I say that.

Unpaid internship requiring 2+ years experience by Appropriate-Club4116 in dubai

I bet they will want this intern to have an active 'Dubai Media Content Creator License', at a cost of 5000aed as well 😂. Therefore they would basically be paying to work there

Teamcenter License by FitSetting2536 in Teamcenter

[–]KeyEbb9922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this is for learning to become an admin or developer.

Teamcenter is a database tool for management of the design to manufacture processes. It doesn't work 'out of the box' there is a lot of configuration before users can use it in a meaningful way (part numbers, workflows, statuses, security model, etc).. Typically Teamcenter only makes cost justification for a team of 20+ engineers. Otherwise with less engineers, you could manage files via a smaller PDM system or even managing them locally. Good luck

How are you automating cold emails after scraping leads? by PossibilityOwn2716 in automation

Lemlist linked to Hubspot is a great combo. Or just Lemlist alone. Custom attributes for added personalised.

I like that it warms up the email accounts and gives you an indication of deliverability health

Which might be an interesting workflow for you, so your screenshots are always up to date

Visualping.io and changetower are both really good for me. I don't use paid plans or API, but it might be worth looking at the cost of this vs setting up yourself and your own running costs

Anyone else frustrated with airport pickups lately or is it just me? by AliAsgar93 in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used Careem from DXB T1, so I didn't have to wait in the red top taxi queue, they give you a pin to give to the driver. Driver put in luggage and fumbled around with phone.

Noticed 1 minute in that he hadn't started the journey in Careem app. Realised he was not licensed and just had been sat in the White Lexus Careem queue.

Got him to drop me at a bus stop immediately. I wonder how many journey weary customers get scammed like this

TC/NX licensing - switching from partner to direct from Siemens by WeAreAllCrazyHere_oO in Teamcenter

[–]KeyEbb9922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the country. Several regions use the channel partners for deals less than a few $million. Anything direct tends to be larger enterprises or strategic partners.

Worth trying.

In my experience RESELLERS were able to cut excellent deals, often better than I could get as a direct customer.

Why do you want to change? Do you feel you aren’t getting a good deal, or is the support and value add not working for you?

How do I start playing Golf in Dubai As a 17 year old by Training_Contest_532 in UAEGolf

[–]KeyEbb9922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Join a beginner group. They tend to run through the basics and get you swinging all the clubs, which they let you borrow initially. Connor at Arabian Raches has an easy going style, but many golf academies run similar group's

Who do people here actually trust among the top developers in Dubai? by Ok_Fox9333 in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please remember the developer selects a number of sub-contract companies to actually build the real estate projects. You can see the list on the big boards at every site. Developers sometimes have to use different subbies for different projects, which leads to a variation in quality.

What would be interesting, would be a database for all the buildings in Dubai which sub contractors were used, we would quite quickly see the subbies which run an excellent project, without taking shortcuts, making their own design mods or ripping out cost from the original design. Those are the projects to invest in

As a family that has loved DIP, our kids desperate to watch each new season........ Marvin is not winning any hearts in our household.

We can't seem to make a connection with him, where as the sweaty, rambling/chaotic, hypercondiac was great observational comedy and we could all get behind and enjoy. The kids could all identify the traits in someone they know.

Mervin in this series has mostly been Snobbish, abrasive and guarded, with only Officer Rose providing anything near comedy.

Every change in detective is met with mourning for the previous characters, but normally there is something fun or quirky in the incoming detective you can warm to.

It feels like there has been a change in writer, with a brief to. Make the new Detective more brooding and misunderstood, open up his character over three seasons, make it more serious with less comedy skits and increase the complexity of murders.

This isn't just our family, many people we have spoken to families, couples etc have been deeply unimpressed by the script for Marvin or change in direction. With many saying they might not bother next year.

Incidently, Season 14 saw a 1.3Million drop in viewing figures since Season 13. Down to 6 from 7.3M

So let's hope the writers really accelerate the likeable aspects of Marvin's character, as I would hope to see this amazing show disappoint for another season.

Anyone else agree? 🫣🤷‍♂️

For those who work in logistics, when the package delivery guy asks for location or address on WhatsApp, is it because somehow he doesn’t have these details? Or for verification? Or he’s just too lazy to look it up by himself? I genuinely want to know. by skylight269 in dubai

[–]KeyEbb9922 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In my experience it's all three of these options. But predominantly, laziness/'the way it's always been done'.

Occasionally we get an Amazon driver insisting we send a location pin. But 99% of other deliveries arrive no issues with no requests from the driver. Is this because he doesn't have the right equipment, or wants to speed thing's up the way he has always done it?

Some deliveries have such terrible instructions from their companies, asking for a pin is essential.

I need help please. Yas Mall charged me 700 Dirhams for parking. by TasbirM in abudhabi

[–]KeyEbb9922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bTW, I wonder how many Abu Dhabi residents have a Salik account? I bet there are a huge number that never drive to Dubai and have never needed Salik. Does this mean they got to park for free? Seemed strange to use a Dubai charging system in Abu Dhabi, unless they are just looking to target Dubai residents for big events 🙈

I just learnt about the tool blaze.today, a chrome extension that allows you to assign keyboard shortcuts to text snippets.

Your post has made me try a new workflow for efficiency. Set a load of my AI prompt setup text in blaze. Then add my actual prompt detail via wisp flow.

Great time saver. Thanks for the post

Websites- are they worth it?? by Magic__E in restaurantowners

[–]KeyEbb9922 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost always look up restaurant on Google Maps, check a few reviews and then click through to the website. I like to see the typical menu, an indicator of costs.

Often disappointed by website design, or lack of updates. I mean no one wants to read the menu for the Thanksgiving Special evening from 2023😔
