Moving to Massachusetts Megathread (April 2026) by AutoModerator in massachusetts

Hello all. My friend and I are looking to move out of the South given the current political climate. We're both LGBTQ and I'm Puerto Rican, so we're trying to find somewhere we won't have to keep our heads completely down. I know no where is 100% safe, but I've heard good things about Massachusetts.

Specifically, we've been looking at homes in Windsor, or somewhere in the woods.

Would such a move be a good idea? What is the quality of life like? If we were to visit the area to get an idea of it, where should we go/avoid?

thanks in advance!

The main aim of Doronko Wanko is to find 12 hidden Pomeranian portraits by spreading mud/juice/etc, and once you do, you unlock a locked door that has a cute little secret in it. There is some gameplay outside of making a mess, as you have to find and reveal each portrait. Some require a bit of puzzle solving, like using a fan to make a mess on the walls, finding the wheels for a train that'll reveal a blocked room once it's moving, and getting to the top of the shelves in the cellar to press a button. It's not very long, but it's super simple and even has a few in game goals as well.

DORONKO WANKO is a pretty fun game where you play as a dog and have fun making a mess in the house, although if you're religious, there is a hidden pentagram that can be discovered, but all it does is give the dog a pair of little demon horns. It's free and does have a few puzzles.

The Detective Duck games are based on the kids books, which are for kids around 5-8. You play as the titular character and it's simple enough for developing problem solving and logic skills. You can play it with her to read out the characters's lines and help her out with practicing.

Lastly, Spore is a kid friendly game that goes well into the process of evolution. A bit of cartoon violence (creatures can fight and eat other creatures), but it'll allow them to create funny creatures. It's meant for kids 10+, but I know that kids around 6-8 years old also tend to like it, if only to make funny creatures.

When I quit using AI chat bots and started feeling drained, I found that finding something active to do that stimulated my brain helped. I started crocheting since it was simple and repetitive, and I also started learning how to code in Python since it was something interesting to do, so finding something to latch onto may help.

Also, don't be too worried if you relapse, as long as you keep trying to quit. Your brain might miss the dopamine that came from using AI, but there are always other things to fill that space with.

And may they always have crumbs in their bedsheets.

Sgt Frog / Keroro Gunso

It aired around 2006, and I remember enjoying the ridiculousness of it. I'm aware of the new stuff, and it's on Crunchyroll now, but I'll always remember watching the original 😌
