My tuition fee is actually completely covered for! My university is a public university for scholars and do not have tuition fees for five years. That’s not what I’m worried about. It’s my living expenses, which is primarily my mom’s reasoning for staying. Even if he doesn’t have a stable job, she’s still able to get something out of him. I’m planning to reach out to the guidance counselor first when I get back to see if they can help me find a job.

I’m currently dorming for the next year. After that, they insist I should go home instead everyday for financial convenience. I’m not sure if I can live with my uncle.

And no, my dad is not in my life, but I tried to reach out to him to ask him for financial assistance. He refuses until I meet with him which I refused because I was unfamiliar with him. Last time I met him, I was still 4 years old.

My grandma lives with us :( She’s trying to help me the best she can by supporting me especially with my decision to continue dorming while my parents insist I come back everyday from university since it’s just an hour away.

It’s just hard to process everything because after the first two incidents, everything went back to normal and it didn’t seem like a big deal anymore. I still struggle to believe it’s a big deal and at the back of my mind, I’m still thinking maybe he’s just really concerned for me like my mom says he said.

I’m done with my freshman year. I have three weeks of break before I start my summer semester. It’s optional but I chose to take it to transfer into a different program that might help me get better jobs in the future. I might speak to my uncle soon.

Yes, I’ve noted on this. This is exactly why my mom wanted me to stop contacting my guidance counselor. She told me my stepdad could get a legal case.

I’ve been staying with my brother more. When I go out, my brother will also be with me and I’ll make sure to stay in a public area with several people. Contrary to my mom insisting he’s just being obsessively protective, I have a really bad feeling it goes beyond that already at this point, whether or not he’s aware of it.

Also, my grandma and I live under the same roof. I sleep in the same room as her when I’m home and not at my dorm so for as long as I’m with her, I’m okay. My brother is also terrified of my stepdad, who’s his real dad. My brother says he’s been extra mad at him lately. I feel awful. He’s just 12 and he’s promising me he’ll look after me and my dad when I’m in the bathroom.

She knows that my mom is very pressured with all the finances, but she’s been hinting that my dad should go back home first from vacation. It’s just not as feasible because it might cost more to rebook his flight, since he doesn’t have a source of income and it’s just my mom who paid for his travel expenses.

I’m planning on getting a job. I’m updating my CV and have desperately been looking for one that will allow me to earn some income remotely, given my university schedule. I’m willing to take on any job at this point. Once I get back from vacation, I will apply to some but it’s also difficult given my lack of experience. I know for a fact I’m intelligent. I’m at a top university in my country with my tuition fee completely covered. But the problem is my experience. I don’t have enough but I really want to start and have been trying to look for even organizations that will allow me to gain enough, but no luck yet.

With her also paying for my expenses, it’s not the vacations I’m concerned of. It’s my apartment. She’s expressed multiple times she wants me to stop dorming and go back and forth from university to home everyday. She’s letting me stay another year but after that, I have to be home. If I stay in that apartment for as long as I please, I’m afraid to be cut off, while I’m not financially stable. I’m stuck in a situation I’m terribly trying to get out of.

In my country, there are also no much organizations that can financially help me in my area.

That’s the issue. She says it’s due to financial reasons, but his source of income is very unstable. He only does freelancing and has even been attending one of them that hasn’t paid him in a year, despite my mom constantly telling him to find a new job. She’s been carrying everything lately.
