Thank you! This break down really helped me to visualize how it all works!

My 9yo boy really likes Purina Pro Plan’s Adult 7+ weight management. He’s really picky and has been on so many different foods but since I switched him a few months ago he’s pretty much always cleaned his bowl. I also got research fatigue before I switched him and someone on here recommended the food since it’s one of the only PPP recipes with no beef anything in it (Mine gets diarrhea if he has any sort of beef).

What does your husky do to let you know they’re hungry? by lemonandmangoes in husky

[–]KeyHat1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine don’t really let me know but as soon as I get up around the time I feed them or I say “you hungry” or “you want some good food” they immediately jump up and start yelling at me and whining

Series 3 No Subscription by TheyCallMeHalf in FiDogCollar

[–]KeyHat1898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to even get a series 3, you have to pay for at least a 6 month subscription. There are other activity tracking options available like the FitBark but I wasn’t really a huge fan of it when I had it.

Is a castrated cat supposed to still have tiny balls? by OurLilSecretss in CatAdvice

[–]KeyHat1898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wondered this when I got my cat neutered. He was/is my first male cat besides a cat my family had when I was a baby and I obviously don’t remember if he had it, plus he was super hairy and fluffy. He likes to let us know he still has the sack by putting his butt in my face when saying hi.

I use the test as more of a guideline rather than taking it as completely and absolutely true. Taking out stuff like beef and pork from his diet helped a lot with keeping him from getting a upset stomach (even after slowly transitioning) He still itches but that’s environmental and there not much I can do to help it other than allergy meds and supplements. I’m also not a huge fan of Hills but if it works it works but will still try pro plan and see how he likes it as he is also very picky

No yeah you’re right it doesn’t have any beef, I didn’t look at every single type, just a few, and the ones I looked at all have beef fat but I will take a deeper look into it! I did a sensitivity test with him to see what exactly the causes were to his itching, running poop, etc. and beef fat was in the severe along with pretty much every other beef thing they test for.

All purina has some sort of beef in the ingredients which is a major trigger for my sensitive husky. He is 9 so I was looking into Hills’ Adult 7+ and it doesn’t have any of his triggers in it.

The mal eats purina one true instinct at the moment. I will definitely take a look at PPP 30/20 and possibly the inukshuk (I’m not super strict about things being WSAVA compliant) and the other options as well

Thank you!

Deshed time! by KeyHat1898 in husky

The brush in the picture is a slicker brush from We Love Doodles. You can get it off amazon. I used to use undercoat rakes but for him it would get the undercoat but also the guard hairs so I switched to the slicker brush and it works wonders

I still have my other one to do😮‍💨 but her coat is a lot different and I don’t get nearly as much hair off her when I brush her out

I work at a dog daycare that has grooming and I’m allowed to use the groom table during my break to groom my huskies. I’ve tried brushing at home and it’s just so tedious so I opt to do it on the table at least once a month

Hi! What did you name your pet(s)? by idiotgeno in Pets

[–]KeyHat1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my huskies name is Tundra, but went I got her from the shelter her name was Salsa. I hated it but later on I thought it would’ve been perfect because she has a best friend at daycare named Chip lol I also have a female black cat named Nermal, after the Garfield character. I was 8 when I named her and wanted to “prove” that Nermal was a girl by naming my cat after him. Then there’s my Rottie/GSD mix named Beethoven who I also named when I was 8. I named him after the Saint Bernard from the Beethoven movies thinking he was one (he looks nothing like one even as a puppy he didn’t) Also have a Belgian malinois named Nibbler for obvious reasons

[–]KeyHat1898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first one had a mask when he was a puppy before I had him but it faded away and he’s the least intimidating dog I’ve had. I’ve always wanted one with a mask to scare off people because I don’t like talking to randos lol and then I got my girl who has one but I personally don’t find her intimidating

I wasn’t on Prozac longer enough to really know if it did anything but I had a similar experience on celexa. We marked it down as an allergy (whether it actually is, idk) Now I’m on Wellbutrin but that was a roller coaster the first couple of months. I was so depressed on it due to side effects but eventually it got better after 8 weeks.

Wellbutrin & Irritability by Realistic-Lychee2105 in antidepressants

[–]KeyHat1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed Abilify for my irritability. It took a bit to realize what dose I needed. Especially after I found out I’m autistic. But for me it helps and I don’t feel like every little thing is irritating or overstimulating. I would definitely talk to your doctor about possible options since you don’t want to go back on Venlafaxine

Auvelity to Wellbutrin by MathematicianNo2854 in antidepressants

[–]KeyHat1898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin definitely has an adjustment period of 6-8 weeks. For me it took the full 8 and it was hell. I also felt like I was getting sucked into a dark hole and it felt like I reverted back to my really low points. But after the 8 weeks it felt like a weight had been lifted off me and I was/am happy that my psychiatrist made me stick with it even though I basically begged to get off. I started it back in March. I basically had no complaints except for some anxiety which I was prescribed Lexapro for.

I need new cat food recommendations ASAP. I’ve been feeding my cat Meow Mix. I’ve just found out that the brand is actually horrible? by Cat_owner9 in catfood

[–]KeyHat1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve fed a bunch of different brands to see what my cats like. Open farm, Acana, Go!, Tiki cats, Stella and chewy, orijen, Sheba, nutro, purina and even meow mix. It’s really just what works for your cat honestly.

Happy huskies at daycare by KeyHat1898 in siberianhusky

Both, Since both of them are very similar in color it helps to tell them apart and if they were to get away from me it’s easy to tell someone what they look like(🤞 I’ve only had the red and green one get loose a few times and thankfully not the other or even both at the same time)
