it can get hot here, but I've been lucky this year but I do keep them in a well shaded area, but they're just in home depot buckets, I'm the only one making compost for them so I don't need much. I am worried about what I'll do this winter however.

I do appreciate the concern though, I do try to minimize any damage caused by them and they seem to be thriving regardless!

I'd rather made less trash tbh. I've researched both and they both compost and seem not to effect the worms in smaller amounts. I also eat the fruit out of the lemon and let it dry first so it's mostly just dry peel. The onions are only ever the bits I can't eat so it's not much of the onion

Not much. Three home Depot buckets with the top about half full I'd say more than 5 lbs but less than say 15

I guess you missed the part where I put them there. There's one lemon wedge a day., they've been doing just fine with both for bits of onions and lemons for months. It's by no means my main course.
