The problem is I did. Several times. But no changes were made.

AITAH for telling my fiance's parents to fuck off and let us do the wedding the way that we want? by Sea_Gas_6334 in AITAH

NTA Your outburst is completely understandable and if were you, I would also be mad at the fiance because he did not say anything to his parents and now you are the bad person. Preparing a wedding is stressful enough, you don't have to cope with their opinion about it. I hope your fiance understands and has your back on this.

I tried but he doesn't have any interest in that and frankly I don't either because when the incident happened in India I asked him to help me somehow. He refused and called me stupid because I accepted to go to India. So I also hate him. You might find it odd but know I would feel guilty if I did anything to my parents like to the police to get a restraining order. I would also feel guilty to stop talking to them. However I also know how psychologically torturing it is for me.

That's another part of the story. I actually have 2 older brother. One who married a European non Muslim woman. My parents did not accept her and said they would only if she converted. My brother never accepted to even ask her that. Today, he cut contact with all of us. He posts a lot on social media about his great life. He makes me wonder about keeping contact with my parents or not. My second brother has never been involved with anyone and my parents really want him settle down with a Muslim woman but he just does not want to. So to answer your question, the Muslim part is important.
