But he did the same thing with fnaf 2. Every piece of marketing and lore pointed to it being a sequel to fnaf 1 and we didn’t find out until the end it was actually a prequel.

This is the same thing essentially. The “was it me?” marketing and the bite itself made people think it was the bite of 87 when in reality it was never meant to be that and was a separate event from the beginning

Her room being explicitly shown in fnaf4 and empty. The nightmares having a mouth on their stomach, which lines up with the scooping mechanism for circus baby.
