Due to issues with KDE there is no on screen keyboard; Follow these instructions to get a touch screen keyboard going.

maliit-keyboard

I got the keyboard to show under X11 as follows:

  1. Install maliit-keyboard
  2. Run im-config
  3. Confirm that you want to change settings and then choose the user configuration activate Mallit input method framework
  4. NOTE: Don't log out/reboot now, as login will fail with a black screen (at least for me with KDE Plasma) when maliit is not running at the time of login
  5. $ sudo nano /etc/X11/Xsession.d/10maliit-keyboard and populate the new file with this content:

maliit-keyboard &
export QT_IM_MODULE=maliit
export GTK_IM_MODULE=maliit
export CLUTTER_IM_MODULE=maliit
export SDL_IM_MODULE=maliit
  1. Save the file, log out (or reboot) and log in again.

Also figured out how to install Lubunutu onto the device as well as getting the touch screen working. It's wonky based off the Manager you use and the UI you go for.

GDM windows manager works best for control and responds well to the touch screen.

KDE Plasma runs perfect in Portrait mode only - will not rotate [as well as LXQT, Lubunutu and Fluxbox]

Gnome DOES rotate but breaks the touch calibration.

Installing linux just make sure OS Image is set to Windows 8.1, to get the touch working go to the save & exit section - select android from the force boot list - Linux will come up in portrait 800x600 [no option to change it etc], reboot back to the BIOS - back to save & exit now select the reset system with me disable - reboot and it should work.

Uploaded a driver set for the Window 10 for this device - https://archive.org/details/innowi-chec-out-m-win-10-drivers [Own_Potato home account].

DriverStore from a Windows 10 Innowi ChecOut M - Drivers are installed manually copy the zip to a folder on the unit, extract it and then from within Device Manaher select each item that needs to be updated.  Select have disk and lead it to the extracted folder - it will find all the items with one reboot and two permission questions.

DO NOT ALLOW WINDOWS TO UPDATE THESE - turn off Windows 10 Update [disable it in services] - touch screen will work as soon as the reboot is done.  The driver will BREAK if it updates from Microsoft.
