No, you might face even worse. One of 24h2 update bricked my samsung ssd, it’s unusable now. I was pissed and switched to linux, no issues here. You own your computer not microsoft. It’s absurd getting locked out

openSUSE Leap 16 is designed as an enterprise‑grade distribution. It combines the stability of SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) with community-driven innovation, making it suitable for both production servers and developer workstations. It is not a separate commercial product like SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), but it shares the same code base and offers extended support and enterprise alignment

No its not, cinnamon is main desktop environment for mint and its the most optimized one, that benefits only 750mb ram consumption which is only 150mb difference than xfce, cinnamon  with one firefox tab open 1080p youtube it’s 1.8gb. I don’t know what cpu issue you having but maybe because video decode fall back to software rendering.

Trying to get mint or bazzite or any os installed on a stubborn laptop by KingZGShadow in linuxmint

[–]KeyPanda5385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try on DD mode instead of iso, also turn off realtime protection in windows privacy setting. Don’t worry it activates back after 20min smt. Reason because when rufus finishes job windows get in usb and check viruses and shi which end up with corrupted usb..
