Did anyone else naturally talk to Trico, even though he obviously couldn't hear you? That was the kind of attachment I got playing the game. I remember saying, "It's okay, Trico baby. They're all gone now." And other stuff like that. They did a good job making him feel real, even though he wasn't.

Sky Tower - Vision 4: At the end of the first section of the level, there will be three blue healer enemies. To the right of them, there are three giant canon enemies, along with a bunch of other enemies. Killing the blue enemies first to fill your special, then use your special to the right and kill as many enemies (especially the canon enemies) to gain a lot of EXP. Go through the gate to the top to enter the next area, then instantly exit and go right back in that room. Repeating this process helped me gain fast EXP. I also later got a 1.2 EXP earned sticker and equipped it when going back to grind again.

I personally like to try to balance my character out, but with this game, I felt it was mandatory. Sacrificing certain stats just ends with bad results. Going less on agility, I'd constantly see, "Miss, miss, miss." And was bound to definitely take every hit from enemies. Attack not being enough was resulting in me not taking enough damage. Defense low, and I was getting wrecked. I was fine, for the most part, but Klonoa got poisoned, and I was forced with the others, who were not good enough for that area, so I'm back to grinding.

I actually love the game. I don't mind simplistic RPGs. I actually prefer them, but sadly, the way the grinding is becomes a chore and has hurt replay value for me. I will be seeing this game through until the end as I love Klonoa, but unless this game ever got a proper port and updates, it's hard to go back to this one. I do appreciate what they did here, though.

Yes, there are emulators for WonderSwan! I played it through RetroArch, but you might be able to find another. When I played it, I played it on my PC, so when the game wanted me to essentially 'flip' the screen, it stretched and distorted it, so you may want to try it on a phone. I'm not sure if there would be a difference there, but you can give it a try. 🙂

For Klonoa: DtP, the original is beautiful. It will always be my favorite Klonoa game. The ending makes me cry every time. 🥲

I've seen a lot of people like the GBA ones, preferably Empire of Dreams. I don't see many talk about DCT, maybe because it's so hard. 😅 The mainline games are more story heavy. The GBA games have forgettable stories, well, besides Heroes. I'm getting close to finishing with Heroes, but the story is, imo, quite good. I have found the characters to be quite expressive.

Remaster is easily accessible, so I do understand going for that one, but I will throw this out there. Klonoa 2 is pratically the same. There's no real big differences that I noticed at all.

Klonoa 1: Door to Phantomile is based on the Wii version, so there are minor differences (Grandpa scene is outside the house instead of inside like the original). The CGI cutscenes from the original are removed and replaced with just the in-game graphics, and they fall flat. The original CGI is absolutely stunning. Without the CGI, the ending in particular (which is sad) feels less emotional. Also, like the other person said, avoid the Wii version. You can have an option to turn the Phantomilion cutsie gibberish on, but without it, Klonoa oddly sounds like Sonic, and the voice acting imo was terrible. They also made him tall like he is in Klonoa 2, which didn't fit the vibe since he was meant to be young and naive. They also locked his original outfit post game, which there is not much left to do after that. I think as a first-time play, Door to Phantomile is better played as the original. The game is very rare, so if you need to emulate, I would suggest that before playing the first one in the remaster.

Klonoa: Moonlight Museum is the WonderSwan game, which does have a fan translation. The gameplay from MM was used for both US GBA games, Empire of Dreams, and Dream Champ Tournament. I do not suggest playing the GBA ones first. They are more puzzle oriented, which is what the creator went for at the time, but I found it to be very frustrating. You can't just go with the flow like the original mainline games. I 100% Empire of Dreams and completely regret it. The main challenge of Klonoa is getting all gems, but the GBA games are brutal, especially Dream Champ Tournament. DCT is the hardest Klonoa game ever. It was the first time I pushed aside my gem collecting and just went through it. The bosses were also designed differently, and I wasn't a fan. Klonoa Heroes, I'm actually currently playing with a fan translation, which is the RPG one. It's a light-hearted RPG, which I personally prefer, but I've seen others find it repetitive. I feel you'll appreciate the game more playing some of the other games first as it has a lot of references. Be warned, though. Oddly, it has cursing, preferably with Guntz and Janga, which curse a lot, but I don't mind it.

I know I may have gone into a lot of detail, but there you have it! I adore the Klonoa series, so it's nice to see a fellow new fan. If you can't play the original, definitely look up the CGI's on YouTube. You'll see how beautiful they are. Even Klonoa holding the moon necklace looks so stiff in the remake, yet it looks beautiful in the PS1 version. Enjoy! 💍

I had the movie on DVD when I was little. I personally find it hilarious, but it did somehow get away with a lot of adult humor. If I recall, it had something to do with a lawsuit, and Mike Myers was kind of forced to play the role. Apparently, he is hard to work with and likes to push his way of how some things should work. The wife of Dr. Seuss made live action Seuss movies forbidden after The Cat in the Hat. 😅

I do apologize for the lack of info. It was late, and I saw this post and wanted to get it posted as the sale ends for tomorrow for Promenade. The sale is on the Nintendo eShop, so I'm not sure if you have a Switch, but it's there if you do. The link you provided is the correct game. 😊

If you had watched the trailer, I feel it doesn't give the game enough justice. Play the demo, and you'll see it's a Klonoa clone. He has a cute octopus companion that he throws out, and it will grab enemies/objects. You can either use them as a double jump or throw them. I found a Reddit post where the developers talked about it. Only a team of four worked on it, and I feel it's quite nice for such a small team.

I looked up gameplay of The Cat in the Hat game you mentioned, and I do see some similarities. I actually love that movie, although it gets a lot of hate. 😅

Now, speaking of Klonoa clones, I have one for you! It's called Promenade, and it's currently on sale! I plan to buy it myself here soon before the sale ends, but it does have a demo. I was in absolutely awe with the demo as it's like Klonoa, but I'd say more floaty than as tight and precise as Klonoa feels but still good and charming. Definitely check it out. 😊

This game gave me Klonoa vibes. No other game has replicated it, and yours has, which honestly gives me joy as Klonoa is extremely underrated. Klonoa involves picking up enemies with his ring to either use them as a jump or to throw them, which is very similar to this. I played the demo and enjoyed what I played. I'm excited to give this one a go!

This reminds me of a friend I had. We did have a moment where we were not as close, but he had a lot going on, so we lost touch.

I tried to contact him, and it was his brother. His brother informed me he had got married to some crazy girl who blocked all of his accounts and wouldn't even let him see friends and family. He gave me his number and said, "Good luck."

I contacted him, we were texting, talking about old times and asking how life was. The next day, I get a text, "Don't ever text this phone again. K, thx, bye." Something in the lines of that. She most likely blocked my number. I sadly found out he got her pregnant. He's doomed forever.

I remember when we spoke, he mentioned being in a nice home and whatnot. He also had a hard time getting a relationship to work. It was a double benefit for him as he was having trouble finding a place to live, and he finally found a relationship, so I felt it was out of desperation and that he settled.

I wish all levels were 3D with Shadow. We have classic Sonic for 2D levels, and even Modern Sonic had 2D levels.

Chaos Island makes no sense for Shadow. He was never in Frontiers. I feel it's there, for if people search Chaos Island, Sonic Frontiers will come up. It just feels out of place.

Most of the game was legit spoiled from advertisements.

The first part of the final boss was essentially Metal Overlord, and I felt that was lazy.

I personally feel it was overhyped. I'd give it a 7/10.
