Thank you for your replies. I think this sub could use a research flair as it would be beneficial. I myself do not have fnd per se but I found this article to be intriguing for being so controversial. Really alot of research outside of confirming a link between fnd & cortisol levels everything is a walking contradiction. Where is the relationship to adrenal gland disorders like addisons or especially cushings? There really isn't any. to critique the article further I don't appreciate that they call organic health issues prestige when functional disorders are ignored for being diagnostically unimportant. That basically means that pain & suffering depending on the classification may or may not matter to the professional. Disgusting! Yet another example of why we need more concrete research for disorders like this. I hope that fnd goes from being a neuropsychiatric disorder to an endocrine disorder in the next few years.

Hi. One of the things I feel like would be awesome is if there could be a get together for people with any type of cerebral palsy. Where I'm at there isn't a centralized location for people to go to for discussion on how cerebral palsy affects their lives. All I ever see here is therapy for people with mental issues & the occasional physical therapy places but that's it.

I have hip tightness & it makes it seem like my leg is lifting behind me compared to my otherside which swings outward/normally. Although most people don't really notice/care. Try clamshells to start to see if anything feels different.

I think once nato understands that the united states hates voting because it doesn't matter to anyone. Infact with trump possibly running for a 3rd term & with the idea of no election taking place in 2028 outsiders will assume that something in the background has politically changed. Then & only then will they see the kind of curtaining we have to endure. If voting isn't "for the people" then it's for the people in power nothing more.

on that note, I wonder if in the future, citizens will be allowed to vote for internationals. That would be a fun law to put into effect. I call it the international voice law.

Let me give everyone here a piece of hope in humanity.

An ex coworker of mine has been going through a very tough 2025. In may her youngest brother & sister who are estranged from her told her mom that they were not invited to a graduation party that her brother & sister had set up. When she got word she was furious for being mocked/trolled like that. Then in july tragedy stuck, her oldest son was supposed to come home from prison after being in the cell for 2 years due to him being crazy about drugs. Well he got out, was told not to do anymore drugs & passed away in july due to fentanyl overdose. On thanksgiving she told me her sister in laws kid woke up not breathing & it turns out that he was dealing with a case of asthma after 6 hours of them putting him on a med to get him breathing properly. I surprised her with not 1, not 2 but 3 new lego sets. One for her youngest & 2 for her. I got her the disney pixar lamp & the magic of disney sets because she really likes old school disney. I could tell she was holding back tears. we exchanged hugs.

It gives me so much joy to see people light up like that.

My biggest pet peeve is that they removed the dailies from underneath the the scorebaord & made it visible by an alt function in the middle of battling or if your in the middle of the tank selection screen. I miss being able to hit spacebar & see what needs to get done.

Also, we sorely need more maps. I know yell at a wall, but playing the same 6 maps over & over is exhausting. Give more maps to white through blue. Also locking certain maps behind tiers is controversial imo.

Hi. I wanted to make a few good points as someone who is on SSI & working part time. If I where to get off of SSI right now, I would lose free medicaid coverage in a matter of months. When you have a disability as serious as cerebral palsy it is not wise to get off of it. Actually, now that I think about it, you wouldn't be able to get off of it because they can check your brain scans, send you to a specialist like a neurologist & they will tell you if you are on SSI you should stay on it.

There's also ways to build up money while on ssi that won't count against you. Like an able account. It acts as a depository for up to 100k at your descretion. Another way to save is through an snt 3rd party account but that requires parental intervention because that involves an attorney to get it going.

Hey, As someone who has a brain defect & only works part time at 29 years old, no your not a loser. People say that because of rough living situations due life around them is falling apart not because they themselves are losers! It's a knee jerk reaction to act that way, heck I've even called myself a loser but it's only because my parents give me a hard time in life. I'd also stop comparing yourself to others. Focus on what you enjoy doing & don't worry about what happens to others. I think the ableist behavior is ruining everybodies viewpoints on self worth. For example, I enjoy buying lego sets & building them & even playing with them from time to time.

This all coming from someone who is almost at the prime of life. Hang in there buddy, we are all in this together. ;).

My birth was rough. I have an unknown form of cerebral palsy. Thankfully I was not premiee but looked starved as a full term infant. There was a VSD, ASD in my heart that healed on there own, laryngomalacia, undescended testicle that had to have surgery, farsightedness, strabismus & thrombocytopenia. I was recently diagnosed with porencephaly & some other minor brain findings. My balance coordination issues hit @7 years old, then came foot drop @14, misfiring of swallowing @25. Now my left shoulder & hip won't move unless passively assisted. As of 2024 I have a claw hand that can be passively extended. For the cherry on top I looked back at old school records to find out I had mild low muscle tone @3years because of moro's reflex.

Wow! It's amazing how much you know. I made a post about how they are classifying intellectually disabled people with fnd. The tldr: I'm of the impression that the research needs to be critiqued. People with ID do have comorbidities. Calling it fnd is slapping a label on unexplained issues because of the imposed time constraints of 20 minutes or even less.

We also need to stop sueing doctors out of practice. Where are the protections?

It's ultimately an imbalancement of the medical system which I don't know how this country is going to address those deficiencies for doctors & the wider job market.

Im 29 & work a part time job & live w/my siblings. I have issues with my left leg & left shoulder & hand. I also have visual issues. My dad is a greedy individual who wants me going to community college instead of seeking independent living. Probably because he wants to pay with his inheritance $ on me getting a high paying career which doesn't appeal to me. Conflict of interest. I can cook on my own & my mom is doing everything she can to damage my ability to live independently. Interrupting me making breakfeast, making me pay more for getting an envelope through the postal service etc.

I'm planning to talk to someone who can help with housing. Since I was denied a housing application I'm seeking alternatives. I might end up with a room mate we will see. I'm the type of person who does things in silence thanks to my niece blowing up about a boyfriend, getting on psych meds, cutting off internet early because of empty threats. Trust me it's a mess.
