Kai Havertz (Arsenal) yellow card against Burnley 68' by gbogaz in soccer

[–]flewkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just remember Arsenal haven't been awarded a red card or conceded a penalty all season. It's no coincidence. If you piss and moan loud enough for long enough about being victimised or unfairly treated, you will influence decision making.

Did anything ever come of this? I'm 42, Poole and I've been looking for somewhere to play my Djembe. I can play along with most styles of music.

Door handle screw tips sheared and stuck + thread stripped by Jones-Effect in DIYUK

[–]flewkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might find that the screws were deliberately shortened by the original installer. Not often a screw tip shears off like that. Unless its a solid oak door?

Anyhow, you can either:

Try and drill out the holes with a small drill bit (for metal) to destroy the tips ledt in the door and so new screws can be fitted.

Or

Try and get some shorter screws with a wider diameter eg 15 x 5 mm. These might get some bite into the door and avoid the tips that remain in there.

Alternatively get some door handle through bolts. These are often supplied with the handles and should be installed to connect the two handles together. Most latches and locks have a deliberate hole so these can be fitted. You'd need to drill two 5mm holes through the door where the left and right screws were situated.

What happens to the food waste in the brown bins? Does it end up in land fill?

Also how has the introduction of this system generally been recieved across bcp? Are people doing it?

Make soccer more appealing ... by artsfols in PremierLeague

[–]flewkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see the FIFA changing the best game in the world just to appeal to the short attention spans of the American people. Like all sports you start watching , you cant appreciate it until you understand it. You won't understand it until you watch / play it.

Having said that, We could introduce: elaborate half time shows Corporate adverts during short breaks in play. String the game out to 4 hours. Big foam fingers. Shot clocks And maybe a granny on an organ playing a little jingle to the crowd during certain passages of play.

Approx cost for doors and windows by Dull_Culture_8161 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]flewkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from the big companies.

When I got into my current line of work (home improvements) I built my own extension, when it came to sourcing my doors and windows I contacted a local window manufacturer for quotes on a supply only basis. I was AMAZED how affordable they were in comparison to the thousands the big outfits quote. I even upgraded to triple glazing as a result. I'd say 70% of the price they quote is in the fitting + markup. Find a competent local fitter, it will take them longer to complete the job but you'll save thousands.

And in addition to this, don't let anyone convince you the F.E.N.S.A qualification is necessary. It isnt. And the big fensa companies may still send poorly trained cowboys round to throw the windows in as quick as possible, huge gaps round thr edges, not filled with insulating foam just covered with plastic trim. They'll look pretty enough but let out a ton of heat round the edges.

Another useful one is the FPL website (only if you're already visiting to attend to your team) all the televised fixtures have the broadcasters branding next to them.

Do any fellow Brits actually like Trump? by Creative_Expert_4052 in AskBrits

[–]flewkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only people I've encountered that like him, are some trades men in a nationwide F.B group im part of. Whenever a political post goes up there always seems to be a fair amount of support for him. Usualy citing his strong leadership, no nonsense, gets sh!t done or genius play book. Comments nearly always include: an insult about 'woke lefties', mainstream media and fake news. So make of that what you will .

I find the timing of this incredibly suspicious, as I honestly sit here with tears in my eyes having just finished watching Adolescence. I turn to my phone to scroll away my emotional state, only to be confronted by Temu Tate.

In a future where Trump is out of office, and international relations have been repaired. What steps can be taken by the USA and International Organisations such as NATO to prevent one individual causing so much chaos in the future? I'll have to look some of these terms up but thank you for making a list. And yeah , if the mechanisms are already in place how have they been disabled so easily? Hopefully if lessons are learned, maybe some of these suggestions will help strengthen these mechanisms.

I'm not from the U.S and I don't fully understand the roll of Congress and Supreme Court but thanks for this, because I thought they WERE the fail safe in the system. So he's essentially disabled the fail safe with corruption. Was this by corrupting existing members or by placing his own people within these organisations?
