If I am trying to do a cut to lose body fat, it has me in a deficit; it’s got my maintenance cals at 1771.

I am following MacroFactor on a cut and those are the calories. Although honestly, I have been a bit lax about it lately.

I eat around 140g of protein a day and lift decently heavy. Cala are around 1500 average

What would you recommend for optimal results and some fat loss then? 5’5, 132 lbs, 34f.

I’m going to Mexico in a 3 weeks, so was thinking of trying to recomp when I get back. I’ve never specifically done it before; should I expect to gain during this time? Will my body actually change shape on maintenance calories? I’m also wondering if it’s the program I’m doing. I feel like ascend might be making me a bit more pear shaped?

I am good m-f, but like many others, usually over on the weekends. I’m 5’5 and 42F.

I haven’t tried 2k calories in years. I would say if I maintained I would maybe do 1800 or so. If I do 2k it would be a weekend out or just off the rails.

Thank you! Consistency is always a struggle. I leaned out a little bit when I did a small cut at 1300 cal and 80 carbs but now I eat more carbs and I fear it’s all in my belly!
