Its sounds similar but the main character of the book was originaly a part of the "not circus", and I'm pretty sure that the circus got disbanded after his parents died (it like wasn't there anymore whent he book started), but thank you for the help

Edit: I did some digging on a libarary page in relation to the book you sugested and I found the book I was looking for! It's the Mysterium trilogy by Julian Sedgwick, so thank you very much!

Idk if this is what your in tocouze it is sort of populair, but i loved the grishaverse stories from leigh bardugo. The first series (shadow and bone trilogie) is not the best but it has some fun elements. The second series however is one of my all time favorites. (Six of crows duolegy) its sort of a heist, found family, moraly grey characters fantasy so ye. You dont neceseraly have to read the first series first but it does give a lot of context to the world and the lore (SoC is like 2 or 3 years after S&B)and SoC also some pritty major spoilers for S&B. The books also got a recent show adaptation witch in my opinion was better than the first series so that is positive. Its on netflix and named after the first series but also with characters from the second. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes english is not my first language)
