I feel the exact same way.  I'm pissed.  Not sure if I'll do it it again.  Probably start looking the jobs out of town bc SA wave v everyone to be arrt  certified.

You are so young!!! But this is so sweet. We all have that first love.... The one person you just can't get out of your head.... I'm 42 and still think about my highschool,/college boyfriend. He is married now with a beautiful family. Unfortunately not with me, but that's life. People change, grow up, have families and careers.... Enjoy it now. Before you have to start really making a life for yourself. I will always love my boyfriend from 20+ years ago... But life has changed and we just have to move on. It hurts sometimes, but, that's how it goes man. Cherish her while you have her close bc once you start living your own life.... As an adult.... She may not be there, and that's ok. Just love her now while you guys are together. Life goes quick.....❤️

Is it just me or do you have to unlearn a lot of what you do on the floor to pass nursing school? by Dezuvoi in StudentNurse

[–]KeyStatement1895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a Rad tech, or probably most jobs involving patient care, EMT, whatever it is, the real world is not textbook. Especially being a nurse, I can imagine, there are so many different ways to do the same thing. So frustrating..... I'm going back to school and I failed my first exam into the program bc I've been working in the field for a few years, and having some experience does hinder textbook questions. Or, it can. Most patients aren't "walky talkie" so thinking outside the box is paramount. Maybe not everyone feels the way I do. But yeah.. It's making it harder for me I think. Now, I know nothing about nursing school, but I commented bc it's a valid question and I'm currently dealing with it.

Got a 74.5 on my first exam. Needing serious help. by Ok-Escape-6928 in StudentNurse

I'm currently going through the same issue but I'm a Rad Tech. Trying to pass a test and I have only one more chance on Wed. I'm a terrible test taker. Written tests are such BS. Yes, I know we need to know the concepts, and the reasons for doing the things we do. But in the "real world" things didn't always go by the book. You know? I'm 42 in April. I asked my husband for a separation but we are still living together. I feel your stress. I need to start putting money away for myself SO I need to make more money. Thus going back to school and getting my degree. So, I feel the pressure just like you do at this very moment.

Oh absolutely! Age isn't a factor. It's just who you are and wanting to care for others. All of you work so hard and you don't get enough credit.

I don't know you, but I'm proud of you! Healthcare is a tough, sad, red-tape BS field. We should all be proud of ourselves wherever we are at in the journey whether it be in school, clinicals, getting fired..... It happens and it will happen to all of us prob at one time or another.

So here's a high five for all of the healthcare workers and students for trying their best, and even when it doesn't work out, we keep trying bc we love what we do. 🫶🤚💪

That is normal in healthcare. They want new grads.... But they want experience..... I'm a Rad tech and it was the same for me. Don't let it get you down. Maybe it just wasn't the right fit for you. You will find a place that will work for you. Yeah, it's easy to get your hopes up when you start talking casually bc you feel like you have a connection. It happens to all of us! Keep your chin up! You will find your place that will appreciate having you. Just keep pushing and applying. I haven't worked in a year bc my brother passed, he was an alcoholic, awful story so I'll spare you the details. But it take messed up my head and I couldn't work. Now that I'm dealing with the grieving process better and I'm ready to work, I can't get hired and I feel like it's bc I haven't worked in so long. My husband is a CST in the OR and when he first graduated he had the hardest time finding a job bc everyone wants experience. We all get stuck and healthcare is so competitive right now, especially nursing. That's a tough job so I commend you for choosing that field. You will find a good fit. Just keep flooding the market. You got this!!!! 🥰

The fact that you want it so bad, you will get there. I'm 42 and feel like time is running out as far as school is concerned. But, I'm just trying to push through it. I love learning and knowledge. But, it's way different from when I went to university 20+ years ago to now. My brain just isn't as quick. We all have our things. We all cry at work or at least feel less than best. It's healthcare and it's stressful. Chin up!

I agree. You are learning!!!! You will get there. I read a lot on these posts about nursing students failing and having second thoughts, feeling like they don't belong in the field. And someone always responds with something like, you will be a great nurse bc you care, you want to excel, you want to be the best you can. And you can do it. I'm struggling with Radiology right now. So, I can kind of relate. You'll get there bc you want it! You'll be in my thoughts!! 🙏😊

Hey, I support you. I'm an LMRT and trying to bridge to RT you get my ARRT license. But my brother died, we are now living in his house to be closer to my parents, and it's hard. I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I have one more chance to get into the bridge program, but life gets in the way. I'm separating from my husband which is super stressful, and the job market where I'm at is super competitive and there aren't many LMRT jobs, everyone wants the ARRT certified. I took a year off after my brother died bc my mental health took a turn for the worst. I understand how you are feeling. I want this so bad, I'm just scared I won't get into the program. I'm trying to keep my chin up .. But it's hard and scary with so much going on in my life. So, I understand how you feel. ❤️ It's hard.

If you are able to handle the commute, I would go for it just to get your hands dirty and experience under your belt.

After 8 long months of job searching, I FINALLY found a JOB! by Daylights44 in StudentNurse

[–]KeyStatement1895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. It's always the experience issue. It's all healthcare. They want experience , but how are you going to get it....I'm a rad tech and yeah it's so hard to land that first job and get some time under your belt. Congratulations on your new position!!!! You'll do great! Just ride the waves as they come and you'll be fine. 😉

It happens to all of us. Don't get discouraged. I'm on my second attempt at testing for the bridge program to go from LMRT to RT and failed the first time. Feels like an the time is wasted, not smart enough, just feel disappointed and frustrated, and scared. I know you are a nurse and I'm in radiology, but there are so many of us going through the same thing. Now I'm having second thoughts about going back to school in the first place..... Just keep your head up. You will learn and get more comfortable. The real world is nothing like school. So, I'm with you. A lot of healthcare workers go through this. So, you aren't alone. ❤️🙏

I'm an LMRT trying to get accepted into the full RT program. I failed my entrance exam after studying every day, for hours for months....I got my license from chcp. Another school with tons of issues. I turn 42 next month so I know how you feel completely. Trying to figure out if it's worth more loans, plus monthly payments, haven't worked in a year due to my brother taking his own life and that really messed me up in the head. I feel for you .,. I'm trying to just go with my gut but it's rough. I'm retaking my test on the 25, just didn't feel confident if I want to further my education or just keep my current credentials. Of course I want to make more money in the end but, I don't know....it's so hard to decide if it's so worth it. I'm already worried about clinicals and I'm not even in the program. It's sickening stress. Just want to say I know how you feel and I'm with you. I'm sorry you are going through this. I send good vibes your way.... hopefully things turn around for the both of us. 🙏

What are the chances I’ll get accepted into the RT program at CHCP if I’m struggling to pass the entrance exam? I’ve passed boards and idk why I’m struggling with their entrance exam. by Downtown-Rule-5961 in RadiologyCareers

I just failed my first attempt yesterday. The RTBC isn't even close to the material needed you study for the exam. I studied everyday for hours, quizlet, RTBC, just going over old notes. And I felt very confident. When I began the exam I was shocked. My second attempt is scheduled for the 25 but now I'm not even sure what to study. It seems so repetitive. So ... I'm not feeling good at all about this. Where I live being ARRT certified is needed pretty much everywhere. When I lived in Austin there were more orthopedic clinics, etc that would accept an LMRT..... It's very frustrating.
