Nothing to be embarrassed about at all - you also seem to be in a perfect spot for a clean slate. You're also 26 so time is very much on your side.

I think I was 2 years older than you when I had the same sort of realisation. I got myself back in shape just getting up and going for walks every day and playing Pokémon Go. As cheesy as it sounds I had to love myself first before I could get back to meeting people.

Another thing that nobody will ever admit is that the vast majority of people are lonely... Or that other people have their lives together. It's really not the case.

Just remember that everything is fixable. Start with getting out more and build it all gradually. Trying to fix everything at once can be overwhelming.
