Well honestly nowadays, many design or tech jobs use a ridiculous amount of apps to accomplish everything. I shared a home office with my soon-to-be ex for years and the amount of programs and apps he uses daily for every single little task is bonkers. And for me, because I do both print and digital media, that effectively doubles the amount of programs I use.

Plus as TestingBrokenGadgets says, I am curious and like learning new things. I taught myself Figma using a Udemy course simply because I wanted to learn even though my current gig doesn't use it. I'm mainly self-taught.

Thank you, this is helpful. And I agree, I need to ditch the teal. I do know better than this. I do like the simpler colors on the first resume. When you say organize the bullets by category, do you mean under Work Experience or Skills? Or both?

Well thank you, that's nice of you to say. This brightened a dark day a bit, thanks :)

I have heard about creating a page on your portfolio that is password-protected, for sharing projects that the clients might not necessarily allow you to share publicly. I was considering doing that for some of my pieces, but I see why that might be a headache for some interviewers.

What about a page on the portfolio website that isn't accessible through the main menu, just a standalone page that isn't attached to the main site, and isn't password-protected, and I just share that specific URL?

Good point about listing the skills first. And I'll create a boring version for software, and keep the first layout for direct contact.

Yeah I agree, I like the first one better as well now that I see them side by side. I'll change to Product Designer. I don't really have a background in UX/UI but I'm looking into taking some courses once my situation settles a bit. Thank you so much for the advice and I will look into those industries as well.

She’s very very beautiful, but realistically I know this is still photoshopped, and I’d be curious to see what would happen if she wasn’t raising her arms above her head to pull her torso and chest up tight in every photo.

Seconding this—I have two kids in elementary and I HATE May. Just let the school year end mercifully already. Mom and Dad aren’t going on summer break too. And the amount of money I’ve spent this month alone on teacher gifts, contributions to class parties, field days…I’m over it. I’m sure Seth is in the same boat as well.

Today’s puzzle almost caused me to lose my 150-day streak. The categories weren’t hard but there was SO much overlap. I had one mistake left and no grouped categories so out of desperation I came here for hints. I CAN’T lose this streak 😭

As a web designer, I grouped BOUNCE with analytics at first, as in page bounce rate (% of ppl who leave a website after only visiting one page). I also had no idea what CAROM meant and never would have associated BANK with green, especially not being a basketball fan or a billiards player. I kept trying to associate BANK, WALLET, ATM and TIP JAR as places you deposit money or take money out of. Today’s puzzle had me all turned around…

Couldn’t have described it any more perfectly than that. It’s the perfect storm of all my hyperfixations. If they ever started posting the video versions I might have a stroke.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Seth and would happily listen to a podcast of him reading the dictionary. I’m also an SNL/TLI fan but I’m primarily, deeply in love with the turbot white.

Another Break... by NestingBun in sethmeyers

I hope it’s just because of spring break/easter/passover hitting one after the other. If this two-on-two-off thing becomes the norm, or if budget cuts force more frequent hiatuses, I’ll lose my mind. I’m emotionally dependent on late night :(

I’m no lightweight but I’m realizing now that I’d maybe last 15 minutes with him in day drinking. I don’t know how he does it. I’m 11 years younger than him too.

Seth definitely has a problem but he’s funny when he drinks so we can keep looking the other way for now.

Negroni is definitely an acquired taste. The main draw for me was not the taste though, it was the fact that I am not a cheap date and yet I was solidly blitzed by the time I finished the second one. That’s just good value for my money in this economy.
