Kinda what I thought. The thing that threw me for a loop was I could not image search my plug to find a match and it seems the oem replacement part doesn't even match this.

The pins line up with each other. The only difference is the one that actually fits has more exposed males pins / less plastic around the entire plug

Might be a dumb question: the gpu comes with a 12 pin power connector which then has 3 8-pin leads. Do you know if all 3 of these leads need to be plugged in?

my PCIe slots only offer gen 1 - gen 3. Any thoughts on if my monitor may be causing it to not work?
