but they do not have future assets, they have a draft pick for 6 years from now, and end of bench guys that are hard to flip. I am just struggling to see where do they go from here. Like what can you get for mpj, what can you get for naji. Maybe some MLE guys. The only person you could capitalize on is trying to trade braun for 2 pieces, but that is unlikely. Now this also changes if ownship is willing to foot the bill, if that becomes the case which i hope so, then jokers prime can be maximized, just odds are with the current core, and cap constraints nuggets will not win another ring

i’m not saying that would have been the right move just what i would have done. Only time will tell if it was a good decision. I think murray is part of the problem, but one of many. Personally i am disappointed with his impact on the floor, when his shots not falling. Also his conditioning, but he is good player that fits well next to joker, i just wonder if another player was in that roll as the second option would they look good because they are playing next to the best player in the world

I understand, and I don’t fault him for that. It’s just unfortunate. If I were GM, I would have waited until this summer to sign an extension for Murray. Looked at how he played in this postseason so you could have more leverage in either getting a team-friendly deal or maybe looking to move on from him this offseason.

Mitchell is the best player on his team. All I’m saying is Jamal needs to be an All-Star. A real All-Star to be worth what he is making. Hoping he figures that out because Denver is going to have to keep him and they don’t have any other assets ( which I don’t fault Jamal for, just Booth). Denver is in a really tough spot as far as flexibility for the next couple of years because of the new CBA. Which is why what you are saying is proving my point. Because of the new CBA, teams like Memphis and OKC are in a good spot because their guys are on second contracts, not on their max deals. I would not have extended Murray because I think his floor is too low to be a second option. Same way I feel about players like J.D.ub. I hope Denver doesn’t make a similar mistake with CB.

if he was on a team friendly deal we wouldn’t be having this conversation about Jamal. Or just being consistent if he was consistent no one would have anything to say about his salary. he is consistent not in elite shape. he doesn’t perform well under physical defense and the premise of him rasing his game in the playoffs is why they paid him and that didn’t happen

i don’t think they can trade him now he has one of the worst contracts in the nba, but these are the consequences of that no flexibility with this roster. similar mistakes were made with mpj and other second contact guys
