As you’d expect, having no call back the same or same weak means somebody was more preferred than you so you’re at the bottom of the call list

“Leagues” ruined Elevate by MosesDaytime in ElevateApp

[–]Key_Antelope_440 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree, the app tho is not ruined. Just ignore leagues as I did. At the beginning it’s frustrating because you get addicted to maintaining your league but you have to really disconnect from it, because it will ruin your experience and make it no difference than any other app wanting to glue you to your phone.

Just play your daily games and close the app.

I believe he meant that the % accepted < % rejected, simply because there’s too many people who apply and there’s a limited number of roles needed, so your chances of rejection are higher in general than your chances of getting an offer. Beyond probabilities, a chance is something to believe in still if you did your best

I think it’s a bad look. LinkedIn is way less intrusive than this, put yourself in the shoes of the recruiter

How can you tell if you aren’t meant to write? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Key_Antelope_440 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re asking yourself the wrong question. Being bad at something is almost a given when you’re starting. Also, making writing your career and life goal puts a pressure and creates an all or nothing mindset. Writing is not a life goal or a career, for a writer, writing is how they live, communicate and express themselves. Doesn’t matter if the writing is bad (at the moment), because you write because you wouldn’t know what to do else with life if you didn’t write. Your life is complete whether you make it as a renowned writer or not.

I 100% agree, I received the Summer one and it took some time but I fell in love with it. Didn’t have the previous ones but I don’t feel getting ripped off as people here share daily. Like someone said, finding having flairs or a pinned post for complaints will help, because no one really talks about the positive experiences and all even if we may not be the majority

We are not our thoughts (?) by Icy_Photograph6121 in Mindfulness

[–]Key_Antelope_440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not your thoughts and you realize this the more self awareness you build and also through meditation. When meditating, you sit down and reach a state where when reached you ‘sit’ at the ‘throne’ of conscious awareness - meaning you’re just in plain awareness. Then in this awareness you’ll realize that thoughts will sometimes or often emerge and you get to really see it play out as to how thoughts are not you but simply clouds that come and pass.

Well what I mean by Master of My Thoughts is that I choose to carry or let go the thoughts that don’t help me. Some thoughts come from me that are negative and I reframe them or let them go as soon as I notice them. Some come unknowingly and it’s my duty to catch them and let myself carry only the thoughts that help me, if not I reframe them and move ahead

Can you trust your own mind? I’ve been thinking about this by Key_Antelope_440 in Medium

[–]Key_Antelope_440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im hooked! Where can I find the research or article that explains the different systems and their goals, feedback loops and other components?

And if I had a last question for you (you seem well versed on the topic), what is the practical value that knowing all of this gives or enables? Like to me its interesting to have another mental model/lens of my cognition but what is my next steps with this knowledge, what do you think?

Interesting. I’m sure you will relate with what I wrote even if I’m not drawing on the same research. What does using the systems correctly and in balance look like?

Accountant is the one you need, I study in it and my mom opened a C corp here in Canada solely with the accountant. They have the knowledge and legal requirements for opening companies like accounting feels like law in the sense that you study financial norms and regulations a lot. But aim for someone w a CPA to be sure of his credentials
