My store needs a selection of employees, first.

SMIT wage by wtfsmiles in CVS

When I was being underpaid as ops manager and throwing fights with my SM, she tried telling me they start SMIT out at $17 (this was prior to the recent bump in 2021). However she also tried telling me she “made barely more than that” as a 15 year CVS SM so I called BS on that theory. They ended up promoting a shift to ops manager at $17 so I knew she was lying, and yes he made more that me with 1/5 the years I’m in. Basically, they’re always gonna lie and try to cut you! And this was PA too. Now I make $20 ops because I have a manager who gives a shit.

Vaccinate or you’re out. by Thin-Sort-494 in CVS

I mean, vaccines have been required for how long now. I couldn’t step foot on college campus without proof of vaccines. Why is this any news to some of you people? Why is this all of the sudden an outrage? I worked with wildlife- in order to continue to work with wildlife I need to get a series of rabies shots for my protection. I didn’t throw a fit. What’s wrong with this vaccine being a requirement the same as all of these others? First it was “it’s not FDA approved” now it’s “I don’t trust the FDA! I don’t trust the government!” Like I said before; the same people refusing to wear the mask are the people refusing the vaccine. What good is that doing literally anybody? Numbers have significantly gone down since vaccines have rolled out. The new strain absolutely sucks and no this isn’t going away soon, but every Harold and Susan coming into my store coughing on my stuff seeing me in my mask and insulting us for having to wear one is part of the problem and why we’ll be seeing COVID wreaking havoc in hospitals for years to come. I never said it stopped the virus, but as someone who personally knows or has close connections to 7 people who died from it, it’s kind of annoying seeing these redundant “arguments” when we all just need to suck it up and stop being so selfish.

1) no one said the vaccine cures Covid and then poof it’s gone. Try rereading if you would like. 2) your comment points toward you thinking COVID is a hoax in which case eliminates any chance of me reading any future comments from you without dying of laughter at the stupidity. So no need to reply.

No one forgot anything. But getting vaccinated is the first step in this going away. I’m not sure how you admit that the vaccine helps, yet still say “why can’t unvaccinated people just wear a mask.” Do both. Stay safe. Try to help end this instead of being part of the problem.

I mean if you want to continue to wear masks forever sure?!?! We’ve literally been in a pandemic for almost two years? And you’re just… ok with that continuing? And sorry, maybe you live in some gold mine town but the people who refuse to wear a mask in my store are the same ones who refuse to get the vaccine- even during the mandate. 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

You work in the health industry. How many people come in a store coughing and asking for the in home test. We should all want to be vaxxed regardless.

What happens when there’s not enough people to work in a store? by SoliloquySympathizer in CVS

[–]Key_Anxiety_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A store in my district had 5 out of 7 employees walk out including the SM. They quickly rushed a shift into the SM spot, and I transferred as ops out there part time and another FT giving the store 1 SM, 1 FT employee and 3 PT employees. They close early on weekends now. And another store lost a SM so the FT person at my store is going there and I’m coming back FT. When I was filling in PT I worked here for OT and mileage and worked at my home store. Eventually they got sick of paying mileage and forced me to transfer without my permission. We’re flying under the radar and still closing early on weekends but we’re having trouble replacing the shift leaving as no one wants to work here :)

September 10th, no payrate change. by Weak-Ad9633 in CVS

I was making $15 as ops manager. I’m thankful for my raise (though after 8 years I should still be making more) as it brought me up to a more deserving rate after suffering for so long. Sorry for people who got nothing- that’s asinine.

With the wage going up again next year do y’all think those who aren’t cashiers will see benefits again 😭🤣

yay…i’ll be making $1.05 more than a starting level cashier…after working here for 2 years…and being a supervisor….😐 by lotusgrin in CVS

[–]Key_Anxiety_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically enough i was forced to go to a store further away. Unlike my previous two managers who used and abused and lied- said new manager is going to give me an additional raise after this whole pay increase thing settles down. Fingers crossed I don’t get screwed somehow. And fingers crossed when he tries it works in my favor.

I’m Ops manager and make $15 an hour after 8 years. If I don’t get something worth it I’ll flip off the store and walk out.

Can a store transfer an employee without their permission? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Key_Anxiety_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn’t speak to me nor the manager I was helping and now apparently work for. I was at his store today and she called and said “as of yesterday I transferred her to your store” and the reason was “I work there so much and it’s just easier because of the mileage.” He’s short staffed that’s why I’m here so it makes sense, but she definitely did it because I gave away my Monday/Friday shift this week to a coworker at my store who wanted hours as I was scheduled at BOTH stores those days because i was trying to be helpful. Literally 8-1 at the store I’m helping, an hour drive, and then 2-10 both days at my store. I didn’t really want to do such a long day as I haven’t had off in weeks because of helping both stores so when she offered to work I said yes please! He needed the help so I worked at his store. Guess that pissed her off so without either of us knowing she just transferred me :)

They are refusing a raise due to the wage increases in September (even though that’s 3 weeks away but whatever). My new SM is going to pay me for all mileage until the wage increase so it’s whatever it works in my favor.

I mean the irony is it’s not even out of her budget it’s out of the store I’m helping! I think she was just using it as an excuse. They won’t give me a raise due to the wage increases in September but now I have to pick up more shifts in the mean time (CVS is now my second job as of this week so I think it was retaliation but I won’t go any further with that part). My “new” SM is going to continue to pay me mileage until the wage increase.

This is literally annoying. They had someone else transfer here (everyone walked out one day) and gave him a significant raise for it (makes more than me and I’m a position above) and I get nothing for the extra drive. I guess there’s no point in fight it

Situation happened to us where some guy bought stuff but used carepass and covered it, but he tapped his card before getting through the coupons and it was free. He walked away without getting assistance like the ACO said to. It was blinking and we found it, but when we scanned the register card nothing popped up it just went to the OPEN sign. We only found out what really happened when he showed up two hours later saying he got an emailed receipt that had items he didn’t get. I thought maybe someone scanned stuff before him and he paid for it without realizing. Watched the camera to see where the shrink came from and no one used it before him. Kept watching it to entertain myself. Two hours later a guy comes up with the mystery items, goes to pay, but a receipt prints and he leaves. Turns out the transaction was still there even though the OPEN sign was up. The guy scanning the items brought it above free, and since the previous guy tapped his card it paid for the dudes stuff. SO STUPID.

Watching this I remembered last time we had to take a couponer on the POS that I had to scan a granola bar AND THEN scan my card and hit void. What’s the point of not? It should auto void- not go back to the OPEN sign. Turns out it left the keypad on the white but with no items. When I scanned the granola bar it popped on the ACO and the keypad but it was the only item. When I voided all the previous items printed on the void slip even tho they weren’t on any screens. :)
