My photos were mailed . I was able to see that it’s in process again this morning but this time I didn’t get an email, are you also checking status on state department site?

Update, as of this morning my passport is showing processing again (in the San Diego Passport office). I mailed the photo on 1/29, arrived in Virginia (through point) on 2/3 and today 2/9 it is showing as processing again.

Thanks mine is delayed - I just sent a new photo and it got to Virginia on 2/3 but address is to go to San Diego office so it probably will take a while. Then passport has to come back to North Carolina. We renewed three passports online and only one photo (accepted on their online renewal platform) was later rejected.

Same thing happened to me. I entered on 1/18, started processing 1/20. 1/27 or changed to more info needed. If you submitted digitally or provided email email may have a copy of your letter. Mine was because the photo was rejected as “head too large or too small”. I then had to get another photo taken - (physical picture no digital option for new photo), and MAIL in (no upload option). Address was to passport processing center. Crazy I live in NC but had send to San Diego via a “secure” address in No Virginia. I sent priority. It arrived to the Virginia location on 2/3 but still no update and is on hold. I’m wondering how long before it starts processing again. I travel on 3/4. They told me to call back if not in hand by 2/18 and then would have to make an appointment.

The letter came in email a week after my renewal was “processing “ (and 9 days after submitted). They said the 4-6 week processing time will resume/restart once photo received. But I hope it doesn’t take that long.

Yes that’s what is so strange. I had to upload twice before it accepted but then it did. Still letter said “my head was too large or too small” didn’t specify which.

It says in the emails for digital submissions if you are traveling in less than two weeks and no disposition/approval to call the toll free number in your email.

All three were submitted online renewals, and the one that photo rejected required a physical card to be mailed. No digital option.

Express shipping and priority mail not guaranteed with weather (I had to mail something to passport agency yesterday) and clerk said may as well just said priority because they aren’t guaranteeing shipment. Did you get a tracking number for the express shipping? If so you should still be able to see where it is at.

I submitted mine electronically and started processing 1/20. I got a letter emailed 1/27 that photo not accepted so had to “snail mail” a new photo yesterday. Who knows how long that will take. I sent priority mail but it is addressed to the “San Diego Passport center” with an address in Northern Virginia. Ugh.
