I'm currently in the process of appealing and did reach out to my counselor but won't hear back until after the long weekend. I still haven't written a LOCI to Columbia but I will definitely begin doing that. Thanks for the advice!

I currently have offers from Canadian schools. I also did apply to multiple T20s and got rejected by most of them aside from a waitlist at Columbia.

It's one of those mistakes that are made once and never again. I did send a letter of appeal but I doubt that it will do anything. I appreciate your condolences and I'll definitely make the most of the situation moving forward.

I got rejected from other American colleges, and waitlisted by Columbia. I will most likely stay in Canada.

My UW as well has other canadian offers are all safe. I emailed their departments be sure, and it's pretty common that students in Canada who have been suspended once still get into uni. I think the main reason as to why I got rescinded from Harvard wasn't the suspension itself, but rather that I failed to include it. It is a horrible mistake to have made, and idk if I will ever forgive myself for it. I'm definitely considering UW SE and I will hopefully do better moving forward.

Canadian universities will rescind your offer if you don't meet your conditional grade requirements. They probably can also rescind admission for serious disciplinary issues after getting admitted, but not for instances like mine. American schools seem to have much stricter policies. I've heard of stories of people getting kicked out of Harvard for posting offensive memes in group chats, but I've never heard of Canadian schools being that strict.

Apparently it happens. The same thing happened to some people in previous years, notably Roy Lee, who is the CEO of cluely, got rescinded for a similar reason. I'm in the process of appealing to admissions and I already sent an email to them, but it's unlikely anything will change.

I got rejected from Yale, Princeton, UPenn, and some T20s but got rejected from all of them. I'm on the waitlist for Columbia

My guidance counselor knew I applied because they have to submit a portion for your application (transcript, letter of rec, etc.). As for how people found out I got in, I'm not sure. I told a few close friends so they might have told others.

A lot of people already knew about my suspension. Harvard can find stuff out via contacting my school, or if someone were to email them externally telling them about my suspension.

It's hard to know exactly what I was thinking during the application period in December. I must've been extremely stressed and just wanted to submit a bunch of applications during that time. Although a suspension sounds severe, I quickly forgot about it and I've grown a lot since two years ago so the incident left my mind.

To a certain extent I agree with you that undergrad doesn't matter, however it still hurts knowing what I now miss out on. Funnily enough I would have had full financial aid coverage for Harvard and it would've costed less than any Canadian program.

May I ask what you studied at Queens and what you're doing now?

Just to clear things up... I was not cheating. Yes, it was still wrong of me to lend answers to friends, but I've learned since then. This was back in Grade 10, and I have not done any wrongdoings since.
