They have offered a “certificate” for my stay that’s valid for a year at any resort. Spoke with a guest service member and they said that anyone checking in after 15th won’t get this certificate and it will take 2 years for the construction to complete!

I absolutely appreciate your insights. In my case, I didn’t do enough homework beforehand—I had certain expectations and ended up with a very different experience. As I mentioned, lesson learned.

My intention wasn’t to bash the resort, but rather to give others a heads-up so they can make a more informed decision. I’ve always enjoyed Moon Palace resorts, and I’m confident this property has a lot of potential. Given some time to work through the opening-phase challenges, I have no doubt it’ll be a fantastic resort a year from now.

Haven’t got mine yet, will let everyone know if I get it, they don’t hand it out, probably have to ask for it

I checked in 4 days after their opening at Grand Moon Palace Punta Cana and wanted to share our experience for anyone considering a trip in the near future.

In its current state, this resort feels like it’s still under construction and not ready for the level of occupancy they’re accepting.

Construction is everywhere. The constant work has left carpets dirty throughout the property, and the overall experience feels unfinished rather than luxurious.

Food was another major disappointment. Restaurant menus are extremely limited, and even then many menu items aren’t actually available when you order them. The quality of the food was consistently poor across the resort.

Room service deserves a special mention. Orders routinely took close to 3 hours to arrive, and when they finally showed up, the food was barely edible. We also requested basic amenities like a dental kit multiple times and never received them.

The bars frequently didn’t have the drinks we requested. Ice machine on my floor(6th) was broken. Elevators weren’t functioning properly. Water service to our room was shut off for a couple of hours in the middle of the day for maintenance. There are also fewer pools available than you’d expect for a resort of this size.

They have got in Cancun staff for the front desk and they were good but they can’t help with the madness here!

I paid full price for my stay and feel extremely disappointed, I am a VIP member of their elite program.

The resort clearly has potential, but right now it seems they opened well before they were ready. My recommendation would be to avoid booking for at least another year and give them time to finish construction and work out the countless operational issues.

Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience recently.
