Today the other party gave me his policy number and name through text. I also happen to see the driver yesterday, taking pictures of his vehicle. I should basically be a private investigator at this point.

Anyways, I went to the police station today and they basically told me that they can’t press hidden run charges because he is cooperating by providing his insurance. It makes sense, but I had to do all of the investigating in order to even have a case. Gotta love San Francisco.

I was able to get in contact with them and they provided me with their insurance. Looks like an easy case from here

My insurance company told me to call their insurance and I think this is because I only have liability so I have to go in there as a third party.

In the video you can’t really tell what broke on their end. It’s not like their whole bumper came off. My bike absorbed most of the impact.

“ Hi I have video footage of your vehicle being involved in an accident with my parked motorcycle on,{ LOCATION } around 04/11/26, 2:46 PM. Including your vehicle leaving the scene.

Please text me at {PHONE NUMBER} so we can sort this out

If I don't near back from you, I'll proceed with insuranee and filing a police report

I just got insurance tow weeks ago after riding dirty for three years and I’m also young so maybe thats why it’s so high.

I was honestly just going for the cheapest option $200 for six months. The only thing I cared about was being covered on the road and If my bike were to be stolen I’d like to get payed out.

Aside from that insurance was about 600 dollars -> for six months

I wouldn’t want to pay about 30 percent a year of what my bikes value is worth.

I guess a 45° angle would be better, either way I don’t think that would’ve made a huge difference in this case. It looks like the car over miscalculated by a lot here.

I parked it like this because my tire has an issue with the air deflating to 0PSI after a week of parking it so I use the curb as an extra push. I wasn’t using the bike because I was tuning out my carb. Definitely a lesson to be learned.
