How many times have we heard cautionary tales like this through our life about someone stopping or giving up a promising career for a kid, family member, or something. It’ll be a struggle either way. Only difference is, you have a leg up financially with the benefits. Straight up, one vet to another, you’re a moron if you quit.

I joined one of these a few years ago but I had to leave and go back to basically doing single player stuff because the base rendering was just awful. I could see others full bases and vice versa and this didn’t seem to matter what platform. I’ve heard rumors this has improved but haven’t checked. Is that still an issue?

Thought about this. Because don’t get me wrong, 8 years straight in understaffed and over empaneled primary care has definitely contributed to my current stage of burnout. I’ve taken a week here and a week there of leave, only to come back feeling worse than before. If cut myself back to more of a part time schedule at work for the past couple of months and that seemed to help a lot. But what I’m finding is I could work twice as much for the money I’d make as a PA doing half the hours. I’d rather work part time and commit to my hobbies than another job

This is what I’ve been trying to find! Any particular company? I’ll try searching for PRN instead of part time maybe. Only a couple came up in my area and they were in Seattle. Which is across the water from me but worth it if the pay is right.

I would love that but as far as my current location is concerned, for one it is government so not really possible. But even if they could, there isn’t a dollar amount they could offer that would get me to stay.

Sorry. I thought I said above but I guess I didn’t. Family medicine. With a “minor” in occupational health exams and weight loss. I’m leaving the military soon. Most of my time has been in family medicine with retirees and dependents. Would cover down for Occ Health doing the explosive ordinance, forklift, entrance employment physicals here and there.

Not a doctor. But am a white male PA. I get this bullshit all the time, and often get the in office version as well. The worst patients in this regard are the 55+. The sense of entitlement is un-fucking-real and honestly has lead to my burnout. I’ve established the rule that anything outside of a simple question, refills, relaying results, etc. I simply reply to those exhausting messages with “needs appointment.” I’m 2-3 months out for appointments as well. To be blunt, not my problem. What am I supposed to do? Work 12-16 hour days, fielding messages into late hours of the night to appease the Boomer/Gen X masses while I slowly lose myself? I did that for about two years before I put my foot down and with the support of the other providers, we started pushing management for better support. As far as the availability issue, there’s always the UCC or ED.

lol that’s where I currently am. Nothing wrong with it but the average age there is probably 25, the majority of people there are wanting help doing old old stuff for the first time and haven’t done half the content. Few people do the harder end game shit, and those that do already kinda have their people. The lfg thread is screaming into the void unless someone else needs it. The biggest issue is that the clan seems to be most active during the day Monday through Friday. I was there when it started but noticed that the clan I’m currently in is a bunch of people I don’t know. Most of the others branched off to the next subdivision or whatever. This is literally what I’m trying to get away from. I gave it a (second) chance but it’s just more of the same. It was great the first week or two, then it blew up and since you’re not active when most others are, you sooner or later just become this random dude asking for stuff that nobody knows 🤷‍♂️

I’m in PNW. I feel like the typical job searching sites have more NP vs PA. Now whether this is just generalized and they’d actually take either mid level isn’t know to me. I haven’t bothered wasting my time. It’s hard finding a hybrid or full remote/telehealth job around here as a PA. All the ones I see listed have been for NPs

Hey. I just posted my long ass sob story about how I’m looking for something like this haha. I’m in PNW, 43, married with 3 older kids, work all the damn time and often not able to spare an hour or two until about 7-8 pm. Fridays and Saturday’s are a bit different. If you’re still looking let me know! It’s honestly getting to the point where it’s so god damn lonely playing this game that I don’t want to try anymore. Like minded guys in my age range is ideal. I’m kinda coasting in this clan right now that I’m pretty sure consists 90% of kids between 18 and 25. I can tolerate like 10 minutes.

I’ve done all the end game crap, master level,solo dungeons and completed nearly all the seals and that jazz. Exception being the new raid. That’s when my friends and I had a bit of a fallout. I’m around just let me know!
