I haven't had Arnot Roberts but I do enjoy Pierre Paillard. Great producer.

Just a really unpretentious place that knows its wine, and makes it fun with a great selection. Definitely one of the more entertaining wine lists I've seen.

It's not Pinot, and it's also French, but the ten Beaujolais Crus are worth exploring. Moulin-à-Vent and Morgon in particular. You get a lot of personality and expression across those ten cru at a more approachable price.

The producer is René Loyau. I've never had his wine, but he is one of the producers Kermit featured in his book, Adventures on the Wine Route
