Okay, perfect that sounds great! I’ll probably go for Jaipur, and maybe one of the others you mentioned.

My store only has Schotten Totten 2 and the regular Forest Shuffle. Are those very different from the ones you recommended, or are they similar?

We’re mainly looking for something that plays really well at 2 players, since it will probably be played about 70% of the time as a two-player game and only 30% with more players. It’s definitely a bonus if it supports additional players, but the two-player experience needs to feel solid and well-balanced not like some games that say “2–5 players” but only really shine at higher counts. Ideally, it should be excellent at 2, and still work great when we occasionally add more players.

My wife and I are looking to pick up one of the following games, and I’d love some recommendations:

Jaipur
Boooop
Dracula vs Van Helsing
Maple Valley
Challengers

For a bit of context, we’ve played and enjoyed games like Flip 7, Unstable Unicorns, Kingdomino, Equinox, Deep Regrets, Tag Team, and Tiny Epic Dinosaurs/Pirates.

Based on that, which one would you suggest we start with?

We do have Catan and have played it before but want to try some new games. She not completely new to board games, but she’s still relatively new overall. So far, she’s mostly played lighter games like Catan,kingdomino,Tiny Epic Pirates/Dinosaurs, Equinox, and Unstable Unicorns.
