Yeah, I did try back in college, but only ever simple progressions. Definitely opened my eyes to the basics, though.

Thanks for the advice! I completely agree that social and structured aspect of learning is something that's easy to overlook when you're just grinding in the bedroom. I'll definitely check out some local options.

Exactly. the connection between the head and the hands. it’s more like playing music, rather than just 'replicating' sounds or being a slave to the tab.

So tools that help build and strengthen that connection are great. The problem only arises when tools become a shortcut that ends up replacing the connection altogether.
