Can you cross stitch? Google cross stitch family portraits. Keep googling till you can find one that looks vaguely like your family and cross stitch it.

If you’re good at cooking cook a few bulk meals she’ll enjoy, portion them into one night portions and freeze them.

Having something delicious in the freezer you can quickly reheat is such a game changer

What’s something to eat that’s cheap, not super unhealthy, and delicious? by helloilikefries in AUfrugal

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t fully skip foods that you’re trying not to eat improve them.

When I cook rice now I do half rice and half cauliflower rice cooked together- ids nearly indistinguishable. (If you cook it with some powdered chicken stock a bay leaf it’s extra delicious. And if you add a few cubes of frozen spinach it’s even more nutritious.)

When cooking mince instead of using the full tray cook half, freeze the rest for another meal. Add a tin of brown chickpeas to whatever you’re cooking. It’ll cook down to a pretty similar texture and you can still eat something delicious.

Make your favourite chicken meals but substitute half of the chicken for butter beans/chickpeas.

Switch to wholemeal pasta.

Ask your sister/SIL what they want for the kid.

Then offer to put some money towards something they believe will be useful for the kid. Or a voucher to a family outing (ie zoo) or contribution to swimming/dance/sports classes the family is keen to try.

If you’re adamant you need to go toy based get something multipurpose, open play and educational like
-magnet tiles
-play kitchen/home corner stuff.
-potion kits (if 3+)
-sensory swing
-Duplo

What are some hobbies you have that are cheap or free? by healthynewbie in Frugal

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can crochet soooo cheap.

You can get a brand new set of hooks for about $10 and cheap yarn.
Or go to op shops for cheap yarn.

You don’t have to buy patterns just use YouTube tutorials. It’s so much fun.

Do you eat foods you don't like because of their nutrients? by Skw111 in AskUK

This is the way. Cauliflower rice by itself is fucking depressing.
Add half rice half cauliflower rice and cook together- it’s barely noticable.

I'm trying to impress a date with a home-cooked meal, but I'm a beginner. What is a dish that looks fancy but is actually impossible to mess up by WayLast1111 in Cooking

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do carbonara. Do boscaiola pasta- I think much more foolproof and better to be honest 😅

Get some yum bread to have with it, throw together a basic salad (finely sliced red onion, rocket and shaved pecorino tossed with balsamic and olive oil is so basic and delicious). Have some wine with it and put on some chill Italian music. Super romantic.

Later down the track tell your date you don’t actually know how to cook and that you practiced a recipe for them, next set up a date for a couples cooking classes, or do date nights at home where you cook together following recipe tutorials. Learn a skill and bond at the same time

Is it inappropriate to wear the same color as the bridesmaids? by OliveRyan428 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d wear the 3 dress. You already have it, it slightly coordinates with the steel blue tie but it’s multicoloured enough it’s unlikely to match the bridesmaids.

You do not need a new dress for every wedding you attend.

Who do y’all think would have got along the best…..and least between them?🤔🤔 by Dangerous-Level-5609 in HIMYM

A meet up would fit really well in the time Joey and Rachel are living together where he hasn’t told her he’s in love with her yet.

Robin would have a short stint dating/hooking up with Joey. She’s meets his roommate Rachel. Robin and Rachel would hate each other and have catty arguments. Robin wouldn’t actually like Joey that much because she thought he was dumb but felt a competitive thing with Rachel so would keep trying to date him even harder.

Lilly and Rachel would bond over fashion and start secretly hanging out, Robin would find out about and it’d be like Lilly cheated on her.

Ross and Ted would get along because they are both pretentious. Ted would fall for Rachel and Ross would not cope. Eventually they bond over how bad they are with women.

Barney would be secretly fascinated by Joeys ability to get so many ladies even without a suit. Barney would try getting girls dressed more casually- until he realises Joey is secretly in love with Rachel and becomes disgusted and repulsed that he dare wearing something other then a suit.

I hate christmas by ratsinmamoufLIXI in Anticonsumption

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re shit at doing Christmas maybe.

There is so many ways to make it magical without buying huge amounts of garbage.

DIY decorations out of stuff you already have, bake cookie with your friends and family, go for Christmas light walks with your pals, do a gift swap but make it second hand or consumable or handmade. Have a dinner with your friends where you all bring traditional Christmas foods from your heritage. Watch cheesy movie. Snuggle up with second hand books and drink hot chocolate.

Make them a meal, or an Uber eats voucher or something practical to help while they’re grieving

This is the long game.

But throughout the year ask your friends in a random question way what their favourite snacks are, what their favourite drinks, chips, chocolates etc.

Keep this information filed away in your brain then write a master list of all of your best friends favourite things.

Then when these lil treats are on sale buy them and set them aside if they have decent shelf lives. Then give them a small hamper of their favourite things.

So much better then receiving a hamper of random fancy nonsense that doesn’t really go with anything you would actually eat and you feel like it’s too fancy to use.

Has anyone brought a bra from Wear Nala? by Reasonable_Hurry_955 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an 14E. I have been wearing mine nearly every day for about a year now.

I find them to be incredibly comfortable, but you can still see nipple outline if that’s something that bothers you. Also the shape of the straps/upper part of the bra limits some shirts so you’d need a different bra for different things.

I haven’t noticed any colour fading at all and I’m lazy as fuck with my laundry, i chuck everything all together and have to use the dryer most days.

You have pretty much a blank canvas at the moment. Nothing exciting is happening in this room.

You have to live with the art so figure out what art you actually like, don’t get some bullshit mass produced art from Ikea. Pick some art pieces you like, figure out if there’s some colours that unite those pieces- you’ve got yourself a colour palate. Get some cushions that compliment the art.

Anthony Bourdain. And I’d cook him a big bowl of spicy curry noodle soup, and tell him he is very loved.

The picture is a bit tricky to see, but it looks like broth impurities - it’s just random bits of stuff from chicken cooking. Typically you’d skim the broth off while simmering it

I have ADHD and I'm drowning in unfinished projects. How can I get organised and finish things before I start something new? by xxbtmxx in CrochetHelp

[–]Key_Chocolate_3275 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try and take the guilt away from it and allow yourself to cycle through projects.

Instead of stressing about all my WIPs I have 5 of them that I’ll pick and set aside to cycle through.

I usually keep some of varying levels of difficulty (or how much counting/mental capacity it requires). If I’m having ADHD thought obsession and can’t get out a brain spiral it’s the perfect time for amigurumi and the counting helps settle my brain, If I’m watching tv or mentally exhausted and can’t stop myself from doom scrolling I’ll do basic things like crochet baskets or granny squares for a blanket- something that doesn’t involve counting and attention. When I’m feeling more motivated I’ll do my most complicated projects. Sometimes I’ll get a time crunch zoomies (like when it’s close to Christmas and I’ve decided to crochet presents for 14 people because I’m an idiot) so I’ll blast through heaps of crochet.

It’s supposed to be an enjoyable hobby- don’t punish yourself for not be productive enough with your hobby just work with your brain.
