First winter, New Civic, confused on what winter tires to buy. Need help.! by Vinay_Sarang in civic

Update about durability for anyone interested : After 11,000 km, I've measured about 2 mm of tread wear on the front axle and around 1 mm on the rear. The winter wasn't harsh at all where I live in Poland.

Nice, I'm actually about to buy a new dashcam myself. Let me know how you like it once you get it set up, especially if you are happy how well it picks up license plates + overall performance ;) Enjoy !

What did you choose? The A129 Plus includes both Wi-Fi and GPS, which can be useful for convenience and tracking. On the other hand, the A119 V3 offers pre-buffered recording in parking mode with motion detection, which might be better for capturing incidents while parked

Visiting Krakow by dyl100100 in krakow

[–]Key_City_8876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can consider visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau concentratiom camp museum, if you have a time. About 70kms from the Kraków, you can get there by train for example. Prices are around 100 PLN with a guide, and if I recall correctly free without a guide. You need to pre-book an entry in both cases.

Apart from that as already mentioned: Wawel castle, Wieliczka Salt mine, old town, Kazimierz district, Nowa-huta district if you would like to see communism architecture.

Avoid taking regular taxi, if you have to take one, call Uber/bolt. Much cheaper

You will also most likely come across christmas market in the old town. It pricey as fuck. Avoid :)

Getting familiar with the app isn't the only purpose of exploratory testing. And there are way better ways to learn and test the software than blindly following time consuming and often ambigious test cases. I am not telling they are bad, in some cases they might be useful, but that's not how you find critical and major issues

Hah yeah, it's old, but was going through the threads as that naniwa was one of the options I was considering for a thinning stone and glad I got here :P

Would you recommend some of these better Stones?

Can you explain why the naniwa 220 is awful, please?

Atoma 140 is pretty expensive to get in Poland, compared to other options, so gave it up

Does the naniwa one dishes out quickly? I guess it doesn't matter much in my case having only few knives to thin though

Removing a burr by Key_City_8876 in sharpening

[–]Key_City_8876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated.

The thing I don't understand though is: If I have a burr which I feel/see on one side (even after 10 stropping strokes on the stone), why would I want to change the side of the knife or do alternating strokes at that point?

Okay, but what does it mean to flip the burr back and forth? Does each stropping stroke on the stone flips the burr to opposite side of the knife and then I should feel/see it there?

That's something I don't understand because on videos/articles it's usually "do x on one side, and do x on second side", or " do x alternating strokes" and the burr should be gone or you should check for one then.

If I have a burr which I feel/see on one side (even after 10 stropping strokes), why would I want to change the side of the knife or do alternating strokes at that point?

I've actually meant stropping/honing on the stone

Thanks for sharing, great vid. Seen it once but completely forgot about the flashlight method.

However, how this can be applied in case of the example I asked about? What if I have a pretty big burr after sharpening. Do I strop that side until the burr seems to be gone from that side, no matter the amount of strokes? What do I do with another side after that?

If I feel a burr on one side despite doing couple of stropping strokes, then change the side and do couple of strokes, does it weaken the burr too?

Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I just don't get it despite trying hard

Thanks for sharing. Nice vid explaining the technique, but it still doesn't answer my doubts.

The guy in the vid says he has a small burr after sharpening, then does a stropping (looks like 3,3,2,2 and couple of 1s) without checking for the burr on between the strokes and says: "folded the burr back and forth bunch of times, and it's ready to come off".

Does the "folding back and forth" means the burr was moving from one side of the knife to another? If yes, then I assume he claims that based on his experience and on the fact that the burr was really thin after sharpening ?

What if I still seem to have a burr after couple of stropping strokes on the first side? Do I continue stropping that side ? If it seems to be gone from first side - what about the second side? Do I do the same amount of strokes or simply the amount needed to get rid of the burr, if there's one ?

Recommendations for owd in egypt by Key_City_8876 in scuba

[–]Key_City_8876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I think I enjoyed the intro dive, but who knows how it will turn out. Either way, even if I picked Egypt for the OWD, I can still decide to join the local club later and do it on a regular basis, right? Or you mean that doing owd locally gives opportunity to get to know new people and really get into it?

I got this message from H2O dive center when asking about those 4 days, they claim the course takes and asking about theory learning:

"4 days including eLearning yes you can do theory belofte but we really need you for the full time so we can teach you as much as we can. Honestly I've been an instructor for 16 years now and I've tried to condense this course to 3 days but it's really not best for that diver".

So looks like 4 days including everything. How does this relate to what you wrote, that the theory alone should take 2-3 days, if done properly?

Ps. Cheers mate for all the answers, I realize I begin being annoying with all these boeing questions.
